I picked it up again after setting it down for almost 2 years. Got some great decks finally going and doing a lot of online play. Anyone else here on Hearthstone?

I just recently started playing it. It seems to be a pay to win game though.

I started playing a few weeks ago. It's pretty fun. All the c'thun decks though... lol people are so unoriginal. It's like people have to just copy decks they see, rather than original ones.

I enjoy the game, so I bought one expansion and I've spent $20 in the game for the arena. I learned my lesson.. I horribly suck at the arena, so if I spend more money- it would be on packs instead. The game feels pay to win, but honestly the packs are random. You just have to be super good and lucky really to find the decent cards.

I recently started playing it again after a break from it. I'm awful in Arena, but I keep playing it in the futile hope that I'll get better at it. I watch the YouTube user Trump to try to do better, and he does help in some ways.

The game is very luck based and random, which I hate and enjoy at the same time.

I havent played it in awhile myself... the game gets a little too repetitive at times for my tastes, though it depends on my mood. The "pay 2 whatever" aspect I dont mind, as far as I'm concerned with CCGs you're supposed to pay for card packs to keep playing, that's how it's always been.

The game's overblown randomness can get more than a little irritating at times. While I SORTA understand why they did that, at the same time I still find it kinda derpy. They're already in a genre that's made of random! Anyone that's played, say, Magic, and has had the hilarious experience of being "mana-screwed" knows full damn well that there's already enough randomness. Granted it's not like HS goes so random that it breaks or something, but it'll occaisionally feel like there's not much strategy happening... wether you're winning or not.

Regardless though, since I'm bored out of my mind lately when it comes to competitive games yet cannot always play the competitive games I do have (because of my arm) I'd considered getting back into this... and then I heard about the C'Thun issue. From what I'm told, every deck is C'Thun right now. And really, just... ugh. I know deck types get more than a little repetitive in these, which is boring but typical of this genre, but the situation with this one sounded way overboard. I cant imagine what the hell the devs thought would happen with a card like that though.

I figure maybe I'll wait awhile longer, thusly. Not sure. Hard to decide sometimes.

It's interesting the response about the C'thun decks. I was actively playing when I first made this post, but after the last expansion came out, I was exhausted from all the C'thun decks that are copies of each other. I might have to wait for the next expansion to come out until there's a new way the competitive play turns out.

Well to be fair.. C'thun can be taken down easily with many decks. I still think it needs to be less powerful. It just goes to show you- people are lazy and unoriginal, so they just copy the easiest thing to do really. I don't follow many Hearthstone pros, so I don't know pro decks and I have no interest in doing so. I play for fun and likely wont get far in ranked ever and I don't mind.

I honestly wish they would do more with arena and tavern brawl. I enjoy those modes a ton. I'm usually good with tavern brawl, but I suck at arena.

Yeah, I had that same thought.

Though I wonder if even that will do it. If they dont manage to fix the issue with the next expansion somehow, then it probably wont go away until the C'thun one rotates out. I remember that sort of thing happening in Magic a few times. That was irritating (long time ago though).
