Er... do you have any particular genres you like or dont like?

The first one that came to mind here was Destiny, but then I saw "no internet" so that wouldnt work (needs a connection to play, it's mostly an online game). And then I also thought, how do I even know he likes FPS games?

I bought a PS4 only for Bloodborne and its still the only reason I have the console. I think it's the best game that came out last year. It's not for everyone though. It is a third person action game with RPG levelling mechanics; the closest games I can think of similar to them other than the Dark Souls games they are heavily based on are Zelda and Castlevania. The art style is among the best I've seen in the last few years. The combat is exceptional, fast paced and tense, and the encounters can be quite difficult. That difficulty is both a strength and a weakness for the game, depending on what you're looking for in a game.

The Last of Us is a fantastic survival horror game. It's the best survival horror game I've ever played. The game is extremely tense, with a focus on stealth and action more than survival elements; overall it is more akin to Dead Space than Silent Hill or Amnesia. It is set in a post apocalypse after an infection breaks out (they're zombies in everything but name) and you have to deal with them and what's left of human survivors. It has great characters and excellent writing. It is a remastered PS3 title, but it still looks exceptionally good, and is one of the few titles on PS4 that runs at a decent framerate. It can be quite difficult but in my opinion the game is best played on its most difficult setting.

If you haven't played any of the Uncharted series you should pick up the first 3 which are available in a HD remaster compilation. It's a third person shooting game with platforming elements and an Indiana Jones inspired theme, with lots of big set pieces and occasional humor. I plan on getting the fourth at a later date, I'm just wanting to play other things on PC at the moment.

I'd second Bloodborne, it's an amazing game and a PS4 exclusive. If you like RPGs there are a number of games like Tales of Zestiria, Disgaea 5, and Omega Quintet you might try. There's also Infamous Second Sun which is another PS4 exclusive and the Ratchet and Clank reboot. Really though it depends on what genres you're into. If you could tell us the types of games you like we could give more useful recommendations.

Gran Turismo, whichever one they're on to now.
Assetto Corsa - it might not be out for consoles yet, but should be by September
Project CARS

To be fair there aren't any real sims for consoles, but there's a few simcadey racing games.

Bloodborne

Persona 5 is upcoming (not quite sure when)

The Last of Us is good, if a bit overrated

I think I read that hard copies of Resident Evil 4 and 5 are coming to PS4/Xbox One. 4 offers an excellent single-player story mode, and 5 has great couch co-op if you have a friend to play split-screen with.

I've heard good things about the new Doom (I'm getting it today)

No idea if any of those would be your thing, but there you go.

Not too hot on PS4 due to not owning one as many of the games keep popping up on other platforms, but I can say what I'll be playing on the system when I get one.

Fate/Extella got announced today, that's an action RPG based off the Fate/Stay Night franchise.

There's also Senran Kagura Estival Versus, a lighthearted musou-style game by the same company (warning: fanservice). The prequel Estival Versus recently got released on Steam.

Megadimension Neptunia VII is a lengthy RPG satirising the games industry with three stories. It's part of the Hyperdimension Neptunia franchise. You can play the first three games on PC.

There's also Persona 5 too, which looks awesome. It's worth playing Persona 4 first to get a feel for why this series is so beloved now.

I'm also leaning towards GTAV and The Witcher III, but not the highest on my list.

It's worth getting a PS Vita or PS TV if you have the budget, allowing for cross-save/play and Remote Play with almost all PS4 games, alongside access to the Vita's library, which includes several PSP and PS1 games.

Have you considered PS Plus?

I own The Last of Us, beat like 5 times. I also have Fallout 4, Far Cry 4, and Minecraft for PS4.

Actually Destiny was... just about the only thing I could think of. That and LittleBigPlanet 3, but again, you're missing most of that one if there's no internet.

I have a PS4 but I dont actually like it much or most of the games that are out there for it. So those are the only things I bought.

Well, I could also suggest Doom, having played the PC version, but I've no idea how it is on PS4.

Witcher 3 had a price drop recently, so I picked it up and I'm quite enjoying it. Free roaming sandbox style, and quite a lot of gameplay with a lot of side quests. Controls are a little clunky at times, but the story makes up for it. Something to consider if you haven't played it. I haven't played any other Witchers and I still like it.

Having now played Doom on PS4, I can recommend it.

If you like grand strategy, Nobunaga's ambition sphere of influence is excellent.

So OP, have you decided on any games yet?
