Not sure if I'm depressed or what??? I have Monster Hunter and Fire Emblem and barley play them. Can barely get into a game now days. :-(

I have Kindle books but don't feel like reading either.

I used to LOVE gaming but this lawyer stuff trying to get back on disability! No income etc. is depressing.

I used to LOVE gaming hours now I'm not even sure I want the new Zelda or Pokemon or NX etc. For comparison I used to play new Zeldas and hyped for them HUGE!

I don't want to give up on gaming and would like to continue playing but MGS V didn't grab my attention.

Not sure what to do to get my LOVE back or do I give up? Don't want to quit gaming totally and still somewhere I LOVE gaming. I got a NES Zelda hat as a souvenir on our last vacation. Just not feeling anything right now.

Is there activities you're still doing for enjoyment? If you don't feel like doing anything it could be a depression. Better to seek professional help and to push yourself doing activities you used to enjoy if that's the case.

Maybe try something new?

I had a similar issue a number of years ago. I'd been primarily into mainstream games up until a certain point, at which time they just... started going downhill. Not all of them, mind you. I am still as big a fan of Mario as ever, and I still like Pokemon. But aside from a couple of things from Nintendo, everything else just got so uninteresting. Games were too easy, they were trying to be movies, they were obsessing over graphics beyond anything else...

And then I started exploring Steam. And similar services. Found indie games and retro stuffs, both in extreme abundance. They were able to actually hold my attention and provide the sorts of gameplay (and challenge/difficulty, two things AAA games usually lack) I actually wanted. I could find games that WERENT BORING. There are well-known ones like the Binding of Isaac (which I consider one of the greatest games ever made), or Nuclear Throne... or stuff I stumbled upon more recently. Like 20XX... remember the whole Mighty No. 9 fiasco? How it was supposed to play just like Megaman... but they failed? Well, I found this game called "20XX" (a nod to the bizarre dates in which the storylines for the old games often took place), which plays just like Megaman X. As in, they got it COMPLETELY right. Right down to controls, looks, everything. And then they added some things from the roguelike genre onto the formula, and it's fantastic. Endlessly replayable and tough as nails while getting the formula right. This is made by a two-person team... while the big heavily-funded group behind Mighty No. 9 couldnt manage much of anything. And there's just tons of things like this out there, all sorts of games, and finding these was a great thing.

Of course, the AAA publishers will do basically anything to get you to believe that they're the only game in town, which.... yeah. Not true. But plenty believe it.

Even on consoles though, there's still tons of different things. The big games arent the only things there. But again, you have to know to look for them... they dont come leaping and screaming at you like the big ones do.

Now that all being said, that mostly relates to disillusionment.

As Tollorin says, it also could be depression. That's something you need to consider... depression can be a serious thing, and if it's that, the faster you can find a way to work towards a solution, the better. Not that I know what such a solution would be...

Thanks. To think the disability office a year or so ago OH! her emotions are stable she can go get a job! Then to have it taken and having NO income this time of year is depressing. Everything from prescriptions to needing shoes every 3-4 months or eating out my parents are paying for which is depressing. Holiday gift season too can't afford gifts. Depressing time of year.

Could be this time next year before all of it is fixed. :-(

Plus it's hard to juggle games and "life" even if "life" is just cleaning the house doing chores. Sometimes I get into a good game and it's OMG! the house is dirty what did you do all day!! ! :-(

Then I don't game for awhile. I'm not much of a stay up late night gamer I like my sleep so rather game during the day but that's seen as "lazy" "you did nothing all day!" OMG!

I spent all day with a good book "OMG! house is dirty!" Can never win.

Well, what's the problem? Isn't there a lot of interesting stuff you can do with your time now that you don't feel like wasting it on gaming? :nerdy:
