The Bahá'í Faith
The mission of the Prophets of God has been to train the souls of humanity and free them from the thralldom of natural instincts and physical tendencies. They are like unto Gardeners, and the world of humanity is the field of Their cultivation, the wilderness and untrained jungle growth wherein They proceed to labor. - Abdul Baha
And I'm sorry - I had difficulty understanding your question.
This does not seem to be consistent with married sexuals not being discouraged from having sex for sexual gratification or sex being pure.
Why do you think fruits are so tasty? Because the fruits have evolved to taste good so that animals so that they can spread their seeds. Their seeds being their means of reproduction - a sexual one at that.

That's a tough question Henriksson. I don't know with regard to sex, but Abdul Baha has talked about the differences between minerals, plants, animals, humans, and Manifestations. I don't remember the exact text, its been a while since I read it. It's somewhere here in part four of Some Answered Questions: http://reference.bahai.org/en/t/ab/SAQ/
Sorry I can't point to the exact page or explain it in brief. I'm very busy today (and will be for the next few). ^^;;
When we read carefully we see that the Baha'i writings consider procreation as the PRIMARY and not the sole purpose of marriage which has many important secondary functions. For example, when the state builds universities, the primary purpose is to provide the nation with educated professionals, BUT they also have to provide housing, sports facilities etc which are important secondary needs. If someone went to university solely for sports and fun, he would be missing the primary and essential purpose of university.
As to homosexuality, the Baha'i teachings require that sexuality should be restricted to within marriage; since gay marriages are not provided for, and it would be impossible to liberalise gay sex and prohibit non-gay sex outside marriage, homosexuality is prohibited to Baha'is, which under no circumstances means that Baha'is are allowed to interfere in how other people behave in their private lives. Baha'i institutions might, however, intervene if the behaviour of a Baha'i disturbs the community.
There is no mention of this in Baha'i sacred writings, so the Universal House of Justice has given this advice which the present UHJ might wish to comment upon and that a future Universal House of justice might modify. To my understanding this is a useful advice as the donor might be felt as an intrusion in the couple, a kind of biological adultery, if you like which can be humiliating to the infertile member of the couple. In case of an adoption, the couple is at equal standing. When a person marries a person which has already a child, he is aware at the onset.
Adoption is encouraged and Baha'u'llah states that educating someone else's child is like educating Baha'u'llah's own child.
I am a Bahá'í Aspie, and I am glad to see discussion of the Bahá'í Faith on this forum. While at this point I will refrain from getting involved in the previous discussion, I would be interested in talking with other Bahá'í's on the autism spectrum, since I am considering writing a book on the Faith and autism.
