How to build a better corporate image
Dear Wrongplanet,
I am writing this topic because I would like to present a motion to the corporations at large, with representation from this community.
My question is very straightforward, but requires thought:
How can the corporations of the world come together and preserve important historical values and initiatives without undue greed taking over with respect to future generations?
Thank you,
-- On behalf of my, Human Corporation Language.
a. Corporations inherently exist to acquire profit.
b. Acquiring profit inherently requires greed.
: : Corporations are inherently greedy.
QED
But on the other hand, there are corporations who must employ mathematicians for use of formulas to demonstrate the efficacy of certain policies. Which is interesting. But what you're really looking into is the sociological impact of corporations, is that the people in charge need to put on a friendly image in order to improve their sense of worth according to public scrutiny.
If you could pick a corporation with a good image and a rational operation, which would it be?
it can't be true that every business is bad, for example.
I would say, a corporation that sends lasting benefits to the demographic that it is interested, commercially as a consumer enterprise, or to offer aid to impoverished classes.
Take the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation for example. Microsoft began as a typical consumer-centric corporation, and it eventually took off, and its leaders gained enough time and wisdom to circulate the wealth in different ways, with new products (take the gaming division for example), and then expand gaming to other areas such as social welfare, and there is some cross over. So analytically speaking, not only has microsoft done well for itself, but it is now also interested in welfare for disabled people, if you look at the corporate website.
In relation to my other topic: "The Seal of Quality, a new proposal to debate," Nintendo (who actually have a seal of quality on their products), released Kirby Star Allies, which, according to the Nintendo News feed, from user comments and etc, can help bring together autistic people or people with mental differences, and help form alliances.
But the interesting thing I'd like to point out is that because corporations are often in the hands of families, and the family system is prone to every historical change throughout time; then the corporate policies determined by businesses which are family owned, will change with the times, and Social responsibility will be fulfilled not only by the shareholders and execs, but also the family members, and the reach expands. These are my thoughts.
But how can all this be improved upon. I take note that you aren't aware of a positive corporation, however, now I have mentioned the Kirby game, and that games companies are interested in mental health and so on, how does this change the stakes?

“It’s really hard for me to socialise with my autistic brother. But when we began playing Kirby Star Allies, it was like he was a completely different person. He was actually strategically thinking, talking to me and planning what to do in the Soul Melter mode of The Ultimate Choice! This game has changed him, for the better. Thank you, Nintendo."
There are for-profit corporations and not-for-profit corporations.
If you want ALL corporations to work together for the benefit of ALL people, then you have to bring ALL corporations together under ONE communal authority so that benefits flow freely from each according to its ability to each person according to his or her needs.
This is called "Communism".
You are of course correct in a way, because in a meritocracy, people are judged based on their needs. However, there is also ideology. The Communist ideology is supposed to be based around no money whatsoever and total freedom from capitalism, and corporations are inherently capitalistic, but with undertones of communism considering that overall monopoly is also based around an overall top down structure. So I agree and disagree.
But, what you are saying isn't necessarily faulty, and is in fact a prime point of consideration.
Usually, we see things as cabals or not cabals. The To be or not to be effect.
If a group of private companies who are truly private, got together and disclosed to the public their actual operations, then that would be a positive cabal corporation. (But minus the cabal).
Of course I am correct.
Now, what is YOUR solution?
By the way, I have watched your videos on this subject. They are all convoluted, rambling, recursive, and generally incoherent. Please put your thoughts into a more concise form. Maybe by putting them into a printed form, they will be easier to understand.
Thank you.
Well as a matter of fact, I don't see what weight has to do with it. But what you will find is that yes I haven't presented myself in a suit or tie and spoken clearly all the time, because I have suffered from illnesses at different times. If you want to turn it into a personal attack then please go elsewhere, however, I must also thank you for watching the videos, and perhaps you are right that some of it... that is, the eligible bits (because not all of it is eligible even if there are some good ideas) need to be presented. However, if you cannot provide me with a link to one of my videos, then how can I know that you have watched them, particularly when they have very few views. How would you have access to the videos?
That said, as I posted, the Human corporation language as a topic header, that would seem to make sense.
I did have difficultly, due to budget, of creating videos that were presentable, given the number of ideas required.
But certainly I would think, when you say recursive, you actually mean slightly robotic. This is just the fact that I have specialist ways of thinking that can be applied usefully some times more than others.

It's fine, it's not a problem. I understand that sometimes autistic people say what they are thinking outloud. It is simply the motivation that is in question. However, I can assure you that the content of my videos, as you rightly pointed out, are better examined under a microscope or a better lense, than the 'spiritual' nature that I have used to communicate my ideas.
Writing advice, extends to videos:
Write your thoughts down, then try to rephrase them in five sentences:
Introduction
What are you talking about, roughly
Elaboration
Why?
Complication
What's making this difficult?
Solution
...
Ending
Thoughts, visions, etc.
Then try to sort your thoughts along these lines.
Watch any TEDtalk - they all *roughly* follow these lines.
Now to your initial request:
Corporate image has only become a concern in the late nineties - about a decade after corporations had started to build annimage as part of their marketing strategy. The problem was that after they had all spent so much miney in building an image, people got upset that this image didn't actually correspond to reality - brands that portrayed themselves as eco actually weren't, etc.
So... Smart companies switched to selling something else - nike sells sports, coca cola sells fun, you get the idea.
Neither of them gave great images, these days, but neither cares, because they asdiciate themselves with something outside of themselves that has a good image - and actually is good. - sports, pleasure, etc.
Corporate image has become largely irrelevant for marketing purposes. - having a bad image is still bad, but brands like Zara don't try to convince thst their colthing is good, their company is ethical, their workers are treated fairly, etc. - they sell you good looks and the feeling you have when you wear a new piece of clothing you know you look good in.
Also: microsoft still has the image of a necessary evil that produces mediocre software. Only Bill Gates has a good image, these days.
So.... I think your point of attack is not suitable. What we need, theoretically, is a global worker's rights movement, and environmental regulations that come with immediate and draconian punishment, to enforce new solutions. The market can then pick the best solution that works within the framework.

Thanks for the post!
It's interesting that you might ask for a workers rights movement, because historically speaking, Lenin was all for sudden revolution and overthrow of the system.
Since the market crash in 2008, many corporations and businesses have basically been liquidated, and it seems to me that the solution was social justice, social media, and generally suggestive outcomes. Make a suggestion in a small focus group, implement it within a specialist team. Yet, people are growing weary. It wasn't about growing an image; it was about applying expertise with social focus (Take the Uprising in Egypt, which was countered with facebook and social media). In other words, the experts often come in to clean up the mess.
But as the platforms for social media are beginning to stagnate, as most businesses do, how could they possibly change their image for the better?
https://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/19/book ... ebook.html
At once angered and animated, the Egyptian-born Ghonim went online and created a Facebook page. “Today they killed Khaled,” he wrote. “If I don’t act for his sake, tomorrow they will kill me.” It took a few moments for Ghonim to settle on a name for the page, one that would fit the character of an increasingly personalized and politically galvanizing Internet. He finally decided on “Kullena Khaled Said” — “We Are All Khaled Said.”
Therefore, from what you said about Coca Cola and other such companies. Things have progressed from trivial marketing, to data analytics and specialist expertise in collating the data for meaningful results. However, due to social unrest and constant consumer and social demands, the demands upon any given population completely climb beyond the base platforms already available. That would be my view point.
Now, I was interested in setting up a political party. My videos on the other hand are amateur and are best for personal purposes not to be attached to this topic -- and I have set up a topic elsewhere on a different forum relating to gaming and game development.
On the face of it, a corporation needs to take the negative and the positive of any political landscape. Perhaps simply just *any political landscape, and turn it into a meaningful environment, so that it goes in full circle and the people, as well as the specialists, are able to carry out their functions.
So I am wondering how business-like draconian measures would tie in to hiring specialists to clean up the environment, or the social atmosphere, and how it comes to be that historically, only some movements are successful, and are these movements usually based around expertise and social contacts combined? Are there some clear examples that show us the historical swing of a peoples' democracy to an era of specialisation through social media? This would be my take on the situation.
