My fears of Reform have returned
Thought this would be a more appropriate place to discuss this.
My aunt is insistent on voting Reform in 2029. Okay I know 2029 isn't yet but time goes quick and when you have anxiety the future feels like tomorrow, as in the next 24 hours. My job isn't safe, though I want to remain there until redundancy so that I can receive the redundancy money. But I could find myself out of a job within in the next couple of years and if Reform gets in then I will be in s**t street because Farage is planning to target the unemployed by forcing us to take any job even if unsuitable and within just 4 months of being unemployed, otherwise he'll stop our unemployment money.
This is just not good news for me. Employment has always been my main difficulty, but having ADHD and anxiety won't get me any support in finding suitable work because Farage doesn't even believe ADHD and mental health exists. He'll probably just think I'm pretending to have it to get it easy.
I'm getting no benefits and I'm not on any ADHD meds, so I did not just seek diagnosis with ADHD to get benefits and meds, I sought diagnosis to help make sense of myself better. It does explain the difficulties I have in the workplace.
I know I'll struggle being unemployed, and the threat of losing my money after 4 months will just cause me severe anxiety and stress. With my state of mind I can't just take any job, and I find applying for jobs (or anything) online these days stressful and challenging because of how complicated they make it with passwords, codes, accounts, apps, proof you're you, etc. I become so stressed out then end up closing my laptop in despair and giving up. This ain't going to go well. But help won't be available for people in my position.
Like always, I am sitting right on the threshold - too NT to be considered disabled, too disabled to be considered NT. Well, I don't see myself as disabled, and I don't like being treated like I'm disabled but I don't mind if I ask for the support. And I know I will struggle with finding a new job.
I'm quite thick with politics and it's hard to know what's true and what isn't. But I have a feeling so many people will vote Reform in to sort out the immigration, though I really don't think Farage will be able to do anything about it. Human rights in this country are part of the law. Although it's not very human rights to just cease people's money who are struggling mentally with jobs and unemployment.
I'm scared and it's affecting my physical health. I keep getting upset stomach, which doesn't help my severe Emetophobia. ![]()
