I am a very strong political Independent meaning I am not left or right wing nor am I a liberal or a conservative. Is anyone else a poltical independent?

Huh... sort of. I'm too ignorant about politics to say it for sure, It may be possible that you reached that conclusion about you out of studying both options and reaching the rational decision that neither one is really worth it, so it would be a bit unfair to compare that to my lack of knowledge

So my guess was right hooray!

I know a bit about the theoretical concepts of right and left, and for that matter I would lean into the left, but in practice most politicians are in for the money and the status instead of the people so... the hogwash option looks convincing :lol:

Yeah it does but I would like to get into politics for the people not the money.

But would such a politician succeed in a context were the other politicians would pressure to maintain the status quo?

I have been Independent since the 1964 election.

Barry Goldwater was the last candidate for whom I was whole-heartedly enthusiastic.

To be honest it has never been done befor. But I think a politician like the one I talked about could work.

That is really good to here I have nothing in common with the republicans or democrats in America. It is nothing but a joke really I mean the left and right fight all the time but bring no soloutions to our problems as a nation.

In my country, Colombia, at least two politicians that appeared to be like what you said were assassinated when it was obvious they would win the elections. Other promising ones are just not proposed as candidates for important places, although once on my city someone won the Mayor elections in the capital without funding and without belonging to any party (with a certain number of signatures from people anyone is allowed to run for mayor, by law) and did good things for the city, our capital.

In Brazil, seems like Ignacio Lula da Silva was such a politician, and he played a pivotal role into turning Brazil into the booming economy that it is today, making life better of millions of people there. That was made from a political party he founded himself.

So yeah, it is possible to be that politican and change the country for the better, I give you that one. Such a politician would meet with huge resistance within the system though, that I can assure.

Key word Support I am a sympathizer for the NPD. Also This thread is not about me it is about if their are any political indepenents on WP also I have no Nazi tattoos but. I do have tatooed on me.

Lula did do quite well, however once elected president, even he folded and gave in to threats and bribes. Very few of them are completely immune to threats and bribery and the ones who are end up like Torrijos.
