Neither should be regulated, and contrary to popular belief, the AR is very regulated.

Not in Arizona...you can buy an AR easier than a you can buy a car. Every so often the local news goes out and demonstrates this.

If it has a barrel under 16 inches, it's illegal without a $200 tax stamp from the ATF, and if it has a fully automatic lower receiver registered after May 19, 1986, it's illegal for civilians to own.

If it's full auto it should be illegal for civilians to own. It might be harder to lay down cover fire, but if you need to do that then call the National Guard or stop working for drug cartels.

Well Arizona has been thumbing it's nose at the Feds, AZ might have some "exception" that will come back around and get people in trouble. One weekend at least 5 people came out to the "desert where nobody lives" near my sister's house to shoot off their Uzi's, AKs and one M-16. All full auto. Pissed me off. They all left after I "spoke" with them.

Those are the type no regs will fix.

I don't live in AZ but on the other hand I've never had to fill out an ATF form 4473 or have a NICS check done to buy any car new or used.
I've never heard of a waiting period to take delivery of a car either.
