Another thing I don't get is why people on the right think they're so hard by calling people on the left "whiners". Maybe we wouldn't be "whiners" anymore if we started carrying guns more at political rallies. We need to start sending our own message of fear and violence to keep them from getting too uppity. Screw pacifism. You know, I think I've finally figured out why so many of them hate black people. Black people have guns and know how to get angry and start riots. They're more of a threat to them than sissy white liberals.

something akin to ethnic cleansing can happen here. there was a civil war once, it can happen again. i put nothing past the right, who i believe will end up dragging the rest of the nation down in flames along with themselves, only they [the haters] are under the mistaken impression that they as a group will somehow elude the ramifications of their hatred, perhaps by way of the rapture? in any case, you don't want to become like them- for the sake of your immortal soul, you will have to steer clear of anything resembling their philosophy. otherwise, [according to psychic sylvia browne] you may end up as a "dark spirit," IOW you might be stuck on a continuous loop of a violent and hateful lifetime, followed by physical death, followed by one's spirit being forced through the "left door" and summary reincarnation into another violent and hateful lifetime, ad infinitum. that is truly hell on earth. so to avoid that, i would rather stick with my "turn the other cheek" meekness and leave 'em to God. let them marinate in their own petty hate. they will be the inheritors of their scorched earth, they can have it, as this meek person refuses the inheritance in liu of the immaculately bright world above. don't be like them.

People! people! please! enough war talk!

we need to accept two things:

1. The republicans are going to promise freedom, and not keep that promise

2. The democrats are going to promise progress, and not keep that promise

solution: let's get some new parties, or better yet, independents, in office. Even if they screw up big time, we will have reminded the big two that they are in fact, not immortal and force them to behave.

I'll wait a year to cast judgment and see what effect (if any) the Tea Party has on the status quo.

I just sent JB a pic of myself. He'll confirm I don't have a big-ass swastkia on my chest.

I've noted this for years myself, having gone to an alternative school full of would be Che Guevaras who liked to skip over the part where he get's buried under an airstrip in Bolivia. I used to point out that it was one thing to romanticize the idea of armed confrontation with ideological opponents, but to keep in mind that as Seattle liberals those opponents were likely armed and ornery. I like to split the difference myself, my logic and reasoning skills are my primary and most effective weapons, but I still keep a pair of .45s handy just in case those aren't enough.

I'd show up to play with an M4 Carbine. In the army, I never qualified with any less than a score of 35 out of 40, and this includes hitting 10 targets at a range of 500 feet.......... this means if you were coming at me from even 2 football fields away, I'd have a 1 in 2 chance of felling you. At 200 or 300 feet, it would be a complete turkey shoot. I could wipe out a whole platoons of Obama youth charging my position just by my lonesome. I'd have decent cover and concealment, and with several other crack shots, we'd wipe out a whole division of Obama Youth.

Your one chance would be to harness their mayfly-attention-spans for a few minutes, and mabye they'd incur tremendous casualties but temporarily overrun our positions with a head-on frontal attack. You might be able to temporarily distract them with shiny bling-bling and the promise of loot for a quick en masse attack. Of course, you'd have to assign many white officers to watch them closely, so they'd not go off and just loot Best-Buy and allow us the chance to regroup. I'd say that would be your one chance. If the Obama Youth got into close-quarters action........... admittedly they have some rough brawn that would serve them well.

Still, most of the Obama Youth have gotten husky and short-winded from McDonalds and KFC so I still like our chances at close-quarters. It would be a close call.

Most of the ex-military people I know would probably find something in common with Hanotaux, who btw, didn't have any tats visible in the picture I saw of him.

And the Democrats will take our freedom in return for no progress, too.

Our two major parties are political disasters.

I'm never one to take an opponent lightly, but this picture kind of sums up why I'm really not worried about the threat of Marshall's militarized leftists...........

You do know that Michael Dukakis served in the US Army stationed in Korea, right?

It doesn't matter. He looked like a swart ill favored Orc, sitting in the tank. One look at that photo (this was way back in 88) and I knew he was a goner.

People do realize that 42% Approval Ratings were what Ronald Reagan had in a much, much less severe downturn?

Ronald Regan was a much more experienced politician and statesman who didn't have the kind of personality problems Obama has. Unlike Regan, Obama will keep on believing he is right and that he is a genius and that the American public is too dense to recognize it.

Uh, with double digit unemployment Barack Obama could implement all the Tea Partisans' (absurd, backwards, incoherent) policies and not gain much in way of public approval. Let me share something from any introductory article on Depression-scale disasters - THEY DON'T DISAPPEAR OVERNIGHT!

Of course they don't disappear overnight. I never said they didn't. Obama is not psychologically up to the task of pulling his administration out of it's power dive or implementing policies that will eventually fix the economy.

The main problem with Obama's administration isn't so much a "POWER DRIVE" as it is conflicting goals - the goal to be "bipartisan" (which entails institutional conservatism) and the goal to be "transformative" (which entails wedge politics to drive the opposition apart so as to implement meaningful reforms), their goal to be mainstreet reformists versus the goal to smooth relations with WallStreets shows another area where contradiction is destroying any change of effectiveness (one can't help mainstreet by redistributing income upwards to WallStreet banksters who destroyed the economy). This, and I don't mean to be offensive to people affected by the condition but it's the only word that rings rhetorically approperiate, political schizophrenia is destroying any chances of structural reform.

That and Obama's pretty much going along with an expansionist National Security State (first it was his vote on the FISA bill as a candidate, then it was his administration's efforts to make wiretapping easier, then it was attempts to make assassinations easier) which is sure to demobolize the ACLU civilly libertarian wing of the Democratic Party.

I'll admit it was America's answer to the Robert Stanfield football fumble.

This is what I'd be worried about if I were you. If several months worth of beer flatulence and dried skid marks were to suddenly ignite it could take out an entire platoon of redneck teabaggers.

Since the economy is going hell in a buggy, Obama will need his Wars too. The only cure for a bad economy is War. It worked for FDR. The man who got the U.S. out of the depression was Adolph Hitler.

Right now Afghanistan is Obama's War. In a while it will be Iran. (or it will be the War of Obama's successor). The minute the voting public has no War to divert their attention they will go amok and vote out the current party, regardless of what the party is. Which is better, I suppose, than going amok and hanging politicians from the nearest lamp post or overpass.

As far as shotguns go..........if some of you ladies show up to your Paris Commune reenactment with shotguns, you need to be careful to hold the buttstock of your weapon hard into your chest, as the recoil can be absolutely nasty. I won't say too much, but if you don't get firm 3 points of contact on the shotgun, you'll get a nasty bruise on your chest that will knock a Manga-fan out of action for 4 or 5 days.

My whole concern though is that if you tried to lead your people through any type of structurized drill, they may well blow their face off in the 2nd movement of inspection arms....... No joke.

Also, the fact that many of your troopers will be attempting to storm our positions with their pants worn halfway down on their hips is not going to help your cause. You may recruit some 'gangstas,' but I imagine they will be slowed considerably as their trousers descend about them, and they'll only be able to wield a handgun at best as their left-hand will be thus occupied trying to keep their pants up.
