What political parties support you?
Says who? James O'Keefe? I wouldn't trust that little weasel/rat hybrid as far as I could throw him.
-Bill, otherwise known as Kraichgauer
Why is that? I think he is completely on target. Why should I think differently?
His videos on the alleged wrongs committed by ACORN have since proven to have been selectively edited. Authorities have since cleared ACORN of any wrong doing - but the damage has been done, and the organization that had helped poor people of color has been destroyed by this little bastard.
Incidentally, how many poll watchers did he have to go through who didn't fall for his coniving little scheme/
-Bill, otherwise known as Kraichgauer
I'm not sure how it was a scheme. All he did was point out that poll workers don't require an ID to vote, which opens a can of worms, except in some states.
Voter fraud in the manner he's demonstrating is real, and he's shown it. How can it be more clear than that?

My Mom had been a Precinct Committee Officer and poll watcher, and I know for a fact that neither she or her fellow poll watchers would have given ballots to persons wanting to perpetrate voter fraud. I have to think weasel boy had gone through several voting stations before he found workers ignorant enough to fall for his shenanigans. They are the exception, not the rule.
And by the way, precinct committee persons who also work the polls are Democrats and Republicans who have been elected to those positions.

It's not just individuals, other workers chime in and say that he doesn't need an ID, and in a lot of places, you don't. Which emphasizes his point.
If you were required to show an ID, it would cut down on voter fraud. But now we could see a great increase, because the video of him demonstrating on how it can be done has been seen by thousands, maybe millions of people.
What exactly is going to stop me from doing something like that? How is a poll water going to determine that a person is committing fraud? By the nervousness of their looks?
I've voted many times before, and never was I asked for identification. And because of that, you can surmise a way to vote as someone you're not.

Again, demanding I.D. from voters is directed at people who are less likely to be able to get proper identification - and these people are more likely to be Democrats. The whole idea is to disenfranchise people from a legal right to vote. I seriously doubt that any of these people have ever engaged in voter fraud, but are being denied a constitutional right. Defenders of these laws never seemed interested in addressing this problem, other than saying these people should just go out and get proper I.D. As if the financial burden isn't a matter to be considered. And yes, paying twenty dollars when on a fixed or low wage income - or no income at all- is indeed a problem. Incidentally, the dick governor of Wisconsin had fired one supervisor at a state DMV for telling his subordinates to inform low income customers that they could be issued free I.D. for voting. Sounds like the guv was trying to keep the voter suppression spirit of the law alive and well, despite denial that this was really the law's intent.

Do you consider proper ID stating a name?
What if they were more likely to be Republicans? Would you be for it then? I think it's absurd to use that argument.
Are Democrats more likely to commit voter fraud?
I understand that you don't need an ID everywhere to vote, but common sense says that it should be a requirement if you can vote as someone else so easily.

I've already stated any I.D. might be out of financial reach for poorer voters.
And I could care less if said voters are Democrats or Republicans - voter suppression is wrong.
No, Democrats are not more likely to commit voter fraud - that's a myth perpetrated by the right.
And as voting is a right, anything standing in the way of that right - such as I.D. laws - is an affront to liberty and equality. As the late Huey Long once said, "Take away a poor man's vote, and he's got nothing."

Maybe it's not a big problem yet. Maybe both parties like to have "insurance".
How many fraudulent votes would it take for you to change your mind? 1 million? 5 million? 10 million? What if the number of fraudulent votes was greater than the number of people that wouldn't be able to vote because they couldn't identify themselves?
What about your union elections? Do you feel bad that they require an ID to vote in?

A union election is not the same as a local or federal election, which is a right given to all Americans. A union election is limited to actual members.
As for voter fraud in the millions - that has never happened, and doubtlessly never will.

You would hope that the people voting in US elections are actual members of the union, but if it isn't a big issue I can see the reason to overlook it. It could be a bigger issue someday, and it has been shown how easily you can do it.
A lot of state it could be done in too
I don't see how you can say an ID for voting in a union election is acceptable while needing one for a general election isn't.

It is the "same" but with a bigger pool of voters. You have to be an American citizen that has not been convicted of a felony and is still alive, among other requirements. That's a select group within the U.S., even more select than workers at a company voting to unionize.

Again, a union is a private organization, whereas voting in a local or national election is a right.

Plenty of people who had tried to commit voter fraud had been prevented from voting by poll workers. As I've said, my Mom had been working at the polls, and she and the others had caught some characters trying to vote when they weren't supposed to.

It's a responsibility too.
But if it's not really a problem, then I don't see why it should be acted on. The day may come. I actually thought there was more voter fraud cases, involving people voting under other people's identities, deceased people, voting in multiple states they are registered too, and illegals than there actually are. There might be more fraud and tampering by the organizers themselves.
I don't know why the government doesn't just give out ID's to people that can't afford them in the states that require them.

That last is actually a very good idea. In my own state of Washington, each voter is supplied with a voters registration card.
The reason why it is being acted on is because many of us believe it's a means of suppressing the vote among the poor, disabled, racial and religious minorities, the young and the very old, and others who more often than not would vote for liberal candidates and causes. The fact that the most draconian of these laws are being enacted in states with reactionary right wing governors and state legislatures speaks volumes.
And by the way - - I never said no one had ever committed voter fraud by using the names of the dead, voting in multiple polling stations, and what not. It's just that such cases are not nearly as numerous as champions of I.D. laws insist they are. And they are hardly limied to a single party.

Here's a party that I feel supports my views, although not from my country.
Pirate Party Wins Again
Pirate Party Wiki
The party favors the civil right to information privacy and reforms of copyright, education, genetic patents and drug policy.
It promotes in particular an enhanced transparency of government by implementing open source governance and providing for APIs to allow for electronic inspection and monitoring of government operations by the citizen
I've heard of them before, but i never really paid attention to them. I thought they some sort of parody, but now I guess I'll have to look them up a little more.
