I've visited Mormon socials, imagine being in a room of 30 young attractive males and females 20-30 socializing not with beer and loud music but ice cream. Imagine young attractive mormon women coming up to you to ask you where you going to school, your major, etc. Imagine going to Mormon church and going in the time slot exclusively for singles, for the purposing of dating and possible marriage.

As an Aspie that's paradise.

Only downside is that their beliefs are crackpot.

I wonder what would happen if non-drinking, non-smoking, ice-cream eating atheists and agnostics tried to form a similar group? Would we get any hot chicks to join?

It seems like this just doesn't happen outside of a cult. There are some fairly hot Moonie chicks, too. All looking for hubbies who subscribe to the same weird beliefs.

Pretending to believe, for the sake of getting some pussy--I'm sure, in the long run, she would just be creep me out, no matter how hawt she was. Like pretending to be a Republican, or getting involved in Amway.

As a Moonie, though, you wouldn't have to worry about social skills--a wife is simply assigned to you.

In other words, people do things that would get them into hell (sin) despite the fact that they meant well.

Thats not quite what the saying means.

It means that the road to ruin and misery (here on earth) is often "paved with good intentions".

I have no idea what you mean. They don't drink , take drugs or have promiscuous sex. It doesnt mean they don't party or have social events.

I think you're confusing the two.

IMO mormons are very extroverted and sociable. I really hate that kind of 'in your face' faux friendship.

During times of extreme loneliness before I met my bf, I used to think about things like that-
I'm straight-edge, want marriage and children and all that,
and don't believe in porn use or a lot of liberal attitudes which dominate the left.

But then I remembered -oh yeah- it's a patriarchal religious institution like any other,
based not only on the already-laughable fables of bronze age eras past,
but an additional, unique and altogether American level of crazy layered atop it.

The dresses look kinda comfy.

Smiled as I skimmed through the thread.

I have given consideration to becoming a Mormon due to my autism.

Still haven't done it, and don't know if I will.

I hold a hostile eye to organised religion.

This thread is almost 6 years old, and most of the ones who posted back then are no longer active on WP.

That said, I don't envision myself being LDS. Too many rules.

Plus I have already firmly established myself as a Lutheran, 10 years running.

Do Mormon girls shave their legs? Of course one could not tell because they wear their "magic garment" which covers them from the chin down except for the slit in the area of the genitalia.

Is the slit large enough to be able to tell whether the public region is shorn?

As far as dating goes, I don't really care what religion the opposite sex (or same sex if you're gay) adheres to, as long as they don't try to convert me. If they have to convert me, that's probably the main indicator of incompatibility. Go meet you a Mormon girl then. Just be honest with them though.

I'd probably convert to certain types of Judaism and certain types of Christianity, probably Sikhism too, but I don't think I'd ever convert to Mormonism.

A Mormon girl is NOT going to marry a non-Mormon.
