There is substantial evidence which suggests that adopted children suffer more abuse and maltreatment from parents than genetic children.

A somewhat recent study, though, reaches the conclusion that parents make more positive investments in adopted children (preschool, private tutoring, summer school, cars,
rent, personal loans and time with sports), but that outcomes were more negative for adopted children (see page 187). The sample size isn't impressive, though.

My brother is adopted, and I'm not. He cares nothing for our parents in their old age, and very rarely visits them even though he lives close by. In our case, I would say it is the adopted child who has decided that love is bound by genetics.

Ah, how my heartstrings are pulled by your statement. Give up.

A bittersweet option aye . . . so it's a gift. Or is it a curse? Gift, curse, gift, curse, WHICH ONE IS IT?

You wanted evidence that love isn't bound by genetics. That's an example of love that isn't bound by genetics. What is the problem?

Love is all take, and no give. You find someone, wreck them, and move on.

Adoption is a beautiful thing.

Gift or curse is still whining about adoption & demanding evidence that adoptive parents aren't evil. While this thread seems to be degenerating increasingly into a tantrum - I'd like to say that evidence that adoptive parents made good parents was provided quite a while ago.

I probably should stop feeding the troll, though.

Actual evidence as opposed to raw "biologicist" prejudice, perhaps?

How about this, adoptive parents are just that, parents, weather they are good or not depends on the individual, same as with biological parents.
