OK, you say you could live with a blind spot, and be reasonably cool about it, well I HAVE to, and it frankly gives me the sh*ts. I get 'blind-sided' by people in shopping centres, Little kids are always running in front of me from the right hand side, can't drive a car because I can't get a licence, and binoculars practically become a telescope because the right one is useless. Also, funny thing about how you mentioned prayers and that; why then do Christians pray virtually every day, if they are supposed to know that these prayers aren't going to be answered? That in itself would show to them that maybe their god didn't exist, and the exercise would be futile. Ah, but you say 'we have to have faith that those prayers will be answered'; well, if you are in a dire situation, like waiting for a chopper to rescue you in the mid-Atlantic after your boat has capsized, all the amount of prayer is not going to stop the nearest sharks from having a go at you. It might ease your mind believing that you'll be set for the 'afterlife', but what if you're only severely mauled and you survive?

If they are stuck on a raft for a week with no fresh water, no shelter, and no food, xians will thank god for keeping them from the sharks.
If they're bitten by a shark, xians will thank god for saving them from a mauling.
If they're only severely mauled, xians will thank god for answering their prayers by saving their life.

I've seen quotes from homeless, penniless Katrina survivors thanking god for 'sparing' them.

Now, granted, it's always good to be grateful for what you have and to acknowledge that it could be worse - but to think that a benevolent, all-powerful god is picking them out of millions and answering their prayers by making sure that they're only a little less miserable than they could be just defies credulity.

Which brings me to the bet God and 'Satan' had over Job; Satan wondered whether if God visited all sorts of plagues and stuff on Job, he'd still 'respect him in the morning', so to speak. So God bet him he could, and did just that. Job apparently copped all the sh*t about the place, questioned it all, but still had faith. God won his bet. Now, seriously, does Raggy expect us in today's society to go through the same hell, and still have faith that everything will get better? May work for him, but for us who are a bit more clear-headed, things don't work that way. Praying a murderer isn't going to pull the trigger doesn't stop him from doing it.

When are Cristians going to give up on the futile attempt to prove, with empirical evidence, that Jehova exists??

We may have get them to write it out 100 times, and if it isn't done by sunrise, we'll cut their balls off......

I'm opposed to using THEIR tactics.

How about locking them in a room with the Skeptic's Annotated Bible for a month?

Why are you so against Christianity, which Western society was based on?

Sounds like a lot of you would like to kill Christians, like in the days of early Rome. But that's OK, because in the words of some Roman guy I can't remember, "The Blood of the Martyrs is the Seed of the Christian Church." So you'll just replant it.

I do admit there are a lot of uneducated and ignorant "Christians," however. But I'm one, and I don't consider myself to be.

Hey, we're not against Christianity or Christians as such, we are against the eternal belief that they (Raggy in particular) are always right, and we as unbelievers are wrong. If he wants to believe his way, fine; doesn't mean he has to make the rest of us out to be 'cutting off his nose to spite his face' just because we don't like his preaching at us. Afterall, isn't this thread about the God of the bible not existing, and we are merely trying to argue this point? If Christians feel insecure about themselves and their beliefs, it's got nothing to do with what us unbelievers are saying.

He will argue that is his duty to come here and preach to all of us, and we should listen, he doesn't seem to know that never works.

unsolicited preaching <-- the term sounds familiar.

As long as things are said in a proper way and carefully and in the right place, I don't see much of a problem.

I'm not trying to preach to any of you. I apologize if I offended you. You have every right to choose what religion and/or lack of religion you want and I respect that. I just have a persecution complex and sometimes go into berserk mode.
