You have the thing backwards. The Real America is the heartland (in the middle of the map) and the costal fringes are Pinko-Stinko-Commie-loving-liberal-stan.

Great thread for a good laugh. So the coastal fringes constitute the "Democratic People's Republic of America?" The DPRA? I love it!

Maybe we should give San Fransisco back to Mexico, but then that would be cruel and unusual punishment to Mexico.

Okay back to being serious, for people claiming to be intellectual on the coasts they sure don't know squat when it comes to the Constitution.

Nah, let Mexico have them. They've been wanting to regain the territory they sold us ever since. Let 'em have south Texas, while we're at it. Texas has no business being that big, anyway. What will happen is secession will destabilize the DPRA to the point Mexico can "declare war" on SoCal, inciting violence in LA and other places, and probably California will capitulate without a shot being fired. I say we evacuate the mountain area on the eastern side and use that as a buffer zone. Let Washington and Oregon deal with them after that.

You really doubt that those giant cornfields in the middle of the country have neglibible population?

Here is one example. The map showing results by county illustrates it most clearly. The heavily Republican parts of the country are unpopulated s**tholes that no one wants to live in.

You're almost as bad at history as Inuyasha or Bachmann. Mexico "sold" us that territory? What revisionist crap have you been reading?

Excuse me?!?! Thank you for proving once and for all you're an arrogant liberal elitist. The places in the middle of the country tend to be far more decent, have a better work ethic, etc. generally than people in the big cities out east. Yes, I can actually make that claim cause I've seen both, there is a level of integrity you see in rural parts of the country that you usually don't find in the big cities.

Inuyasha, do you know why small towns are small? It's because no one wants to live there.

I grew up in Ohio btw, so it's not as though I have no idea what I'm talking about here.

Not even going to bother responding to your stupid masturbatory fantasy about how uneducated small-town hicks are actually the "real decent hardworking Americans."

I don't see why you have to call my whole state a s**thole just because it votes repub. And why are you assuming small towns are uneducated, my half-sister grew up in a small town she got educated just fine at her high-school.

EDIT: And she is now attending college.

It's because he's a liberal elitist, and after calling me a liar for saying that he's finally proven I was right.

If these rural people have so much integrity why do they support a social darwinist agenda and vote to increase suffering for the unfortunate just because they have an irrational fear of "big gubberment"? You know they believe only the rich deserve healthcare.

It's not a matter of being uneducated as much as a matter of being willfully stupid. You have to be willfully stupid to believe the earth is 10,000 years old.

People I've never met. I grew up with people who think evolution is a myth and the earth must be 10,000 years old. My parents live in an area that is dominated of far-right hicks and millionaire corporate Republicans (Grand Rapids Michigan). It's as red as you can get out here.

It's probably cuz living in rural areas demand more of a Git R Done mentality than living in cities so yeah it makes sense.
