Why do Christians Scowl at Evolution?

It might be true the Devil has been getting a lot of bad press lately even though Christians are the only ones who believe in him. Nothing like group thinking followers thinking for themselves.

I have only ever personally known one person who believes the bible literally.

I don't know what goes through the minds of some people.

Why do Christians Scowl at Evolution?

- Disgust at being descended from apes
- It drives evolutionists to fits
- It's against the Bible

- Yet we have scores of evidence proving evolution via genetic data and the fossil record.

- Evolution seems to make a lot more sense as opposed to believing the Earth is only 6000 years old and that we were made out of dirt.

-The bible seems to contradict itself time and time again and written during a time where people believed in magical creatures like unicorns and dragons. Let alone does not show any proof and when proof is layed out in front of them they go apeshit and say blasphemy and all the same youll go to hell song and dance.

Are these your views or are you suggesting what goes through the minds of creationists?

If the bible is not meant to be taken literally then what is it, because by definition it cannot be the true word of god.

In other words- for no real reason.

Its icky, and it enables a few (like yourself) to troll, and that it differs from Genisis- which was probably never meant to be taken literally anyway.

And who are these 'evolutionists' anyway?

If you believe in the germ theory of the cause of infectious diseases does that make you a "Germist"?

I will try to help out the Christians with evolution. They look like fools defending there view and put any believer at a disadvantage if they work in a technology field. Its time to evolve. Most of Christianity is operationally an oral tradition and only very loosely based on the Bible so it is really easy to fix this problem.

Just claim God created evolution, all the details like geology, DNA etc all Gods handiwork. This is the basic rule to weave around whatever story they need. The next rule don't spend too much time on this.
Genesis and creation story - no problem, God created the dinosaurs etc and man in the distant past at least 6000 years ago probably much longer. When man became aware of God and knew he had sinned he needed God. Because man worshiped God, God gave him dominion over all other creatures. All animals have some awareness of God and when man was no longer a mere beast that is when he was able to receive the grace of God and we begin with the Genius story.

The question was: "Why do Christians Scowl at Evolution?" and I provided a short list of answers. Sorry I took it as a question but I guess the little question mark thingy confused me. If I wanted to troll over this topic I had an opportunity earlier this week with another thread on this same topic. Really, it wouldn't bother me one iota to take the creationist stand here just because and let the fur fly for the next few weeks. I'll get tons more pleasure out of it than you ever will.

I personally have my doubt of this kid's alleged Yerren ancestry. The only way to know for sure would be to dis-intern the remains, and do a DNA test.

I concur. The Bible is full of other unknowns as well.

I am a Christian, but I don't spit at the sight of evolution. I have no problem. It has credibility indeed. A lot of Christians today scowl at the theory of evolution for some reason. I believe God works in mysterious ways, so I am not one to jump to any conclusion.
Heck, I go to an ultra-conservative Catholic High School and they had not problem teaching us evolution in the science department. No problem at all. I guess that kinda speaks.
Probably one day the Christians are going to come to terms with the theory of evolution. It reminds me when the Catholic Church insisted on a geocentric model. It's quite sad how Christians have despised science. It really does sadden me.

'The Scowling Christians' would be a good name for a pub.

In my opinion i just thinks its just a result of a genetic mutation from a recessive gene from our ape like ancestors!
