Guess we're ruled by irrationality.
I'd say insanity but, as you should know, sanity is a condition that is subjective and defined by consensus.
Is rationality objective? Is it ruled by consensus? If not, then what is it ruled by and how do we make (and agree upon) a determination of rationality or irrationality?
What an insane line of questioning.

Indeed it is. But it is interesting nonetheless, and you provoked it.
Come on Ska, sanity is boring. Let's go crazy and figure out what you meant by "rationality."
Sanity doesn't exist. Conformity is boring.
By rationality, there should be a point of measuring pro's and con's. Gather up informtion, try to make the best guess, then from there see how things develop and adjust accordingly. We haven't done that. We haven't changed anything in any significant way since determining it was broken. We haven't learned from history rather less from our own immediate faults with Afghanistan and Iraq.
There is some objectivity in rationality. Not much and it can easily be obfuscated into obscurity, but there is some objectivity.
