Jesus wasn't born on Christmas, even Christians will tell you that (smart ones)
when he was born the Star of David there appeared to those Wise Men and they began walking
takes a little while to walk, they weren't down the street
so when they made it there, he was already at least a month or two old
Christmas marks the day the 3 wise men came and gave their gifts to him

Actually, he was a "young child" by the time the Magi came, which meant a toddler, not an infant. Hence the age range of children which Herod had executed.

have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death [a]
a light has dawned.

3 You have enlarged the nation
and increased their joy;
they rejoice before you
as people rejoice at the harvest,
as men rejoice
when dividing the plunder.

4 For as in the day of Midian's defeat,
you have shattered
the yoke that burdens them,
the bar across their shoulders,
the rod of their oppressor.

5 Every warrior's boot used in battle
and every garment rolled in blood
will be destined for burning,
will be fuel for the fire.

6 For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, [b] Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

7 Of the increase of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David's throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the LORD Almighty
will accomplish this.

well, since most of the early storys of the bible can be directly (almost) ripped off of the sumerians then i should believe anything divenly "inspired" by god but men just wrote it. then when jesus was born, lived, died and 90 years after wich the gospels where written,

oh yeah. let me believe

That time of year is too cold for shepherds to be living out in the fields.

Depends on where they are geographically and whether the climate was different then. Also, because of slight inaccuracies in our reckoning of time that have added up over the years, the birth of Jesus could conceivably have been in a different season than winter.

The coldest day of the year signifies darkness or spiritual blindness.

Actually, the only thing in common with the Sumerian account and the Bible is the account of the Flood and Noah. However, practically all pagan mythologies in every area of the globe have an account of the Flood, so it is unlikely that Sumer has much to do with it in terms of copying.

Also, in terms of stability, the ark which is recorded in the Sumerian account is a cube and is 70 ft high, whereas the ark in the Bible is mathematically stable.

most archaeologist would agree that civilzation began in mesopotamia all of wich others copied. read up. if there was an ark it was a copied story from the sumerians, all of wich the major stories of the early bible, the cain&able story the creation of man etc. were guess what? copied. from the sumerians

do you really believe that jesus was born on dec. 25th? if not, then how can you take anything the old testament, or new testament says to be true?

So, are you saying that,

"If Jesus was born on December the 25th, then the Bible is true"?

Or

"If Jesus was not born on December the 25th, then the Bible is not true"?

i like how you look at things, but what im trying to say is that nobody knows when jesus was born. and the only reason why his birthday is on the 25th of december is because much like what your trying to do now is what they were trying to do then. convert people to your religion

infact, nobody knows when jesus was born

I see no evidence of iamnotaparakeet trying to convert anyone to anything.

lets nitpick because i love it. ive come to enjoy iamnotaparakeet's views, this wasnt always the case and i guess i need to be uber specific when i speak or type. i was just generally making a point and not directly saying parakeetbuddy was trying to convert me, or convert anyone. just that thats the whole point in why jesus birthday was made on december 25th

To convert people to what?

As I see things, bringing December 25th into the equation many centuries ago was about distracting people away from truth. If I was an antagonist of today's Christianity, I would be doing everything possible to prove it actually *is* "Jesus'" birthday being celebrated on December 25th and that he and Tamuz are one, and the same.

The celebration of Jesus' birthday...............

Yesterday I heard few christmas poetry from someone from the web (radio broadcast), although I was tired so I can't remember the words just got this idea, it said something about giving presents to Jesus because the day of his birthday, and the idea was about Jesus responding to people to give presents to the needy, going something like "If you do this to them you do it to me", sort of like that, which is interesting.

That's based on Matthew 25:40 and surrounding verses I think.
