I think censorship is going a little far. I agree with the Pharynguloid tactic when dealing with clowns: POINT AND LAUGH.

Is it censorship too muzzle hate speech, or insane rambling, I am sick of the paranoid delusional ramblings from these raciest freaks, giving them a place to air their hate isn't helping anything, sure laughing at them may be fun but it fails to change the their views, in only enforces their insanity

But pointing and laughing and educating the public on their inanity does confine the spread of this virus of the mind more than censorship does - which simply martyrs the thugs.

I can't see the video at work, but he's not exactly been satisfactory. I voted for him, and I support a lot of his ideals. But he's succeeded in turning me against the democratic party. He seemed like an intelligent enough guy to know that you can't just write hot checks like that.... He was supposed to be reasonable about his reforms. Make changes that are sustainable.

Also- Health care hasn't passed yet, but how could it? The house bill, the senate bill and this new bill of Obama's are nothing close to what the American people want, on the right OR the left. The right wants NO changes... And the left wants universal health care.

Personally, I want universal health care. But this bill is NOT accomplishing that and is likely going to succeed in making the healthcare system A LOT WORSE. At this point it seems obvious that it's impossible for this administration to produce legislation that satisfies anyone, and it's probably best we just drop the whole thing and rewrite the bill. But no, that's out of the question

Yeah, let's push through a bill that kills all chances of us being elected next time, AND f**ck over the entire healthcare system while we're at it!! ! Makes a lot of sense

Yes, that is censorship: free speech means freedom to say whatever stupid, idiotic or hateful things people want (as long as nobody is being directly physically injured by doing so.) Laughing at them may be fun yes, but the other purpose of that is to reassure others that their position is one that simply can't be taken seriously; unless the video maker actually was a parody intent on being comedic, then the laughter wouldn't help their insanity at all. What exactly do you think would "change their views" anyway? They're not likely to change their minds and love Obama just because they were muzzled out of saying bad things about him.

Why is it that if you don't support Obama you must be a racist?

The only speech which could be muzzled legally (in peacetime) is incitement to riot or fomenting a panic (yelling fire when there is no fire etc). Speech is protect in the U.S. under the First Amendment.

The virtue of the First Amendment is that it protects unpopular speech. Popular speech does not need protection.
