This article is a load of rubbish. The economic situation in the UK has become worse although to be fair this article was from a while ago. Then again I don't think much of the mainstream study of economics so I am not impressed by a nobel prize in it.

Scotland is what made Great Britain great. Scotland has provided a great deal of the intellectual horsepower that made the British a great power. James Clark Maxwell who created modern electromagnetic theory was a Scot. So were Adam Smith and David Hume.

While I don't think he was the best prime minister we ever had, I do think he was a darned sight better than his predecessor, an English man by the way, who has a Messiah complex and a cheesy grin.

Cameron, our current PM, has never had a job in his life, other than a brief stint as a PR man, and as far as I'm concerned has the most immense cheek, trying to persuade us that he can run the country. I wouldn't even let him be a school prefect.

Its all silly anyway, hes clearly never pretended to be english, and also hes clearly not a fool, the smear campaign run by murdoch;s media sucked and largely failed as reflected in the election,the tories failed rather badly, were supposed to win outright,didn;t and will now probably be considered by UKIP as too liberal

The Daily Show's bit about Gordon Brown's "walk of shame" was pretty funny the other night.

Well, I would say this election was a failure for everyone. The Conservatives were clearly ahead by what should have been a secure margin only months before the election, but the expenses scandal didn't do them (or the Labour Party) any favours. The country was clearly dissatisfied with Labour, and the Lib Dems thought they would do a lot better than they in fact did.

And I would add that the Liberals have shot themselves in the foot. A lot of their supporters will be upset that they've teamed up with the Conservatives, and won't trust them again, and I don't think they'll get electoral reform from the Conservatives either. So they've not only lost the trust of potential future voters, they've lost any hope of electoral reform.

In the mean time the Conservatives must be gutted that they didn't win outright. At one point you would have expected a landslide.

And the Labour Party must realise just how much the country no longer trusts them.

Basically, it's a shambles, and I don't expect it will last for a full term. No matter what the back room promises may have been.
