I'm not sure of the accuracy of these, but they seem right:

We are the TMB party.

It's election time for an election rhyme,
Vote for us and you'll be just fine.
We'll welcome you with a cheese and wine,
Or kill you kids if you decline.

We have some things to promise you,
We're making buses baby blue.
Red's so last year and as for Big Ben,
It's time for you to join 2010.

Gordon Brown can't brake it down.
David Cam can't do the running man.
Who's the other one? I think it's Nick Clegg.
Nick Clegg, Nick Clegg, Nick Clegg, Nick Clegg, Nick Clegg,
Nick Clegg, Nick Clegg, Nick Clegg, Nick Clegg, Nick Cleggy in the house.

We are the TMB party.
Come-a, Come-a, Come-a, F**k around with me.
We are the TMB party.
Come-a, Come-a, to our house party.

We are the TMB par-tay.
We're the only party that has a DJ.
Who's in the house? Weed in the house.
We in the house of Parliament.

Don't mind spending tax payer's moneys,
We'll buy cars, cigars, and hot honeys.
I could have a mote around my estate.
We could sit around, have a mass debate.

The prime minister, ever so sinister.
Once I could trick her, I'm verbally bigger,
But not in my figure, I figure the size of my lunch.
The taxes I munch and the credit I crunch.

I'm the chancellor of the exchequer.
I write checks to make things better.
If you do wrong I'll write you a letter.

I'm the chief secretary, to the Treasury.
Got a second house in the Grand Canaries.
If you got probs then b***h be wary,
I could put you in the obituaries.

Who pays for houses like this? You do.
Who like picnics? We do.
Who built this monstrosity of a ferris wheel? Not us.
Rubbish is literally littering the streets. Bin it.
TMB: one, litter: nil.

The ten years of the Great Canadian Slump were very depressing. Recent events are probably worse. Evil always wins. In Britain, it's madness. Their debt to GDP ratio is far lower than it was when Clement Atlee set up the welfare state and yet they're supposedly up against a debt wall and have no alternative but to totally undo everything Atlee achieved. The media has done a terrible job over there. Not only did they refuse to adequately cover the cautionary tale of Ireland and how austerity has caused a deterioration of its debt situation, but they refused to cover a study showing that this is in the UK's history and that austerity in the '20s helped doom the empire. Someone should make Rupert Murdoch pay for his crimes.

So what's the alternative?

Let's start with a two basic assumptions:

1) Some amount of government has to exist. You might believe that there should be more or less, but let's agree that we can't function as a society without some amount of government.

2) No person can be an expert in all things. So we retain a public service composed of people who are better trained or experienced in particular fields.

So, should government be left in the hands of small groups of experts, or should the decision making be exercised by people of good judgement who can evaluate the recommendations made by these experts.

If you opt for the latter, then how better to choose these people of good judgement.

Now, you might well argue that the people currently exercising these offices are not demonstrating good judgement (and not without reason). But who should hold the blame for that? Instead of complaining that polticians are self-interested, why not start putting the political power that you do have to work for the proposition that we can do better?

I find the hoards of people who aggressively promote the politicians and parakeet their views to be even more depressing. Actually, I find them to be scary. They're the reason why I can't talk about politics in real life. I'm afraid that if I say one little thing that the other person doesn't like, he or she will yell at me and try to humiliate me.

The reason politicians and diapers need to be changed often is because they are always full of crap.

Is this before or after Bush stole a lot of power from the legislative branch?

At least nowadays you don't have to worry about getting excommunicated by the pope and having him kick you out of Heaven. One time Pope Gregory VII kicked King Henry IV out of Heaven. The pope hid out in a castle and made King Henry wait outside for three days barefoot in the snow before he would unexcommunicate him.

It is not so much insufficient goodness as insufficient attentativeness. Sloppy lazy thinking is at the root of much of our trouble.

neatly energetic thinking is too much to expect from most people most of the time, me included. sometimes i can't think my way out of a wet paper conundrum. so that leaves it up to the smarter, more effective movers and shakers to idiot-proof public systems as best they can.
