I neither make nor enforce rules, Hanotaux. I was describing my observation of what used to happen on this forum: someone would come here spouting some ridiculous/offensive idea, and would meet with general opposition from the rest of the forum, following which they generally decided to leave. That's why we don't seem to have any of those 9/11 nutters on here.

As long people don't directly attack each other I think we're all good on this forum. I don't think anybody should be chased off the forum, diversity of opinion makes things interesting.

Just so you know, I did actually talk to the mods about PPR in regards to you; I lobbied against banning you, since that's not how we do things here in PPR. I figured that you were more valuable as a punching bag in here than as a martyr elsewhere going on about how your beliefs were censored here, hell, you might even learn something, and if not you'll serve as an example for the others.

It would seem I've been far more on the giving end than on the receiving end....................

If you say so . The most damage I've seen you do is to your own credibility, but I'm not exactly following your posts with any sort of enthusiasm. You do make the perfect example though of how things work here; you have an opinion that many find distasteful, but rather than just sweeping you under the rug the forum engages you and attacks the veracity of your views. I'm not even sure you're so much a racist as someone who overgeneralizes and then gets defensive, either way though I don't think that tossing you out to the forum serves anyone, so I'm willing to go to bat with the mods to keep you here and posting.

Some of our younger and more excitable posters still actually think they're fighting a hearts and minds campaign in here, that what they post actually influences people and thus "incorrect" beliefs and competing ideologies need to be eliminated. Just look at how often certain posters will bend over backwards to try and discredit a poster rather than engage his posts on their merits, it's not only intellectually lazy but indicative of a mindset that doesn't seek to have discourse but instead wants to "win", no matter what the method. Personally I don't much care what you think, but I'll challenge anyone on a particular argument just for the fun of it.

And for the record, I have reported nothing to the mods at all. I hold firmly to the rule, Don't talk about PPR (to the mods).

Before anyone gets the wrong idea, the mod was already here and making threatening noises in the mentioned poster's direction when I PM'd them, I didn't bring them to the thread in the first place.
