Satan is fighting for what is right against a tyrant (God)
It probably does have to be some local flood or something else like that.
They found documentation that the Euphrates river flooded, and a lot of people were killed, but one guy managed to hijack a boat with a bunch of farm animals on it.
That must have been one hell of a farming system with all those strange animals on the boat.
We can't really assume the ancient Israelites who wrote the Old Testament conceptualized Yahweh and Satan the way a modern Christian theologian or philosopher might. The theologian or philosopher might posit certain properties they think belong to their monotheistic god, but the god of the Old Testament is clearly a folk god along the lines of a Zeus or other god in a polytheistic pantheon. The concept of a cosmic battle between the Christian god and Lucifer is Manichean rather than the Old Testament's concept of a tempter angel Satan. The Bible and Christian mythology is multi-sourced and a product of an evolving culture.

Documentation!, how about the Cretaceous period with a layer of chalk being left over much of the Earths surface due to it being under water, all the fossils of marine life found in the deserts of America, all cultures of the world having flood legends, not just the Christians, how about the Chinese picture word for ship being 8 men in a boat, just like the 8 people that where aboard the ark, how about the recordings of the Roman historian Josephus who records the popularity of lucky amulets carved from the wood of Noahs ark!
Or how about the instant freezing of heards of woolly mamoths, one minute they whre eating fresh grass and plums, the next they are dead and frozen before thier flesh even started to decompose, only the quick removel of the water mantle that surrounded the planet as revealed in Genisis chapter 1 ccould account for that.
Or the remains of tropical rainforests under the polar ice caps.
Or the salamander that was found under the polar ice and that revived for a while once thawed.
The canapy of water around the globe would have acted as a greenhouse keeping the whole planet at an ideal temperature, and protecting life from the harmfull effects of solar radiation, its no co-incidence that people lived for 900 years before the flood, then after the waters of the canopy collapsed on the earth, causing the flood, people then lived the same as they do now.
Or what about the bones of predators and thier prey being found heaped together in high mountain caves as if fleeing rising water.
Oh whatever. Quit bringing the truth to my pack of lies. You ruin the fun of it all.
"god" gave free will "the devil" encourages it to be used. ![]()

So what are you arguing. Don't believe in God because Satan does not like God anyway? I do not see what is to be gained in this discussion.

Actually, I am arguing that the narrative of the Bible does not make sense in terms of Satan's rebellion. In this, I have made the argument that a different interpretation of scripture, one incompatible with the Christian faith, is perhaps better. I make the latter argument partially as a joke though.

Sources?, Well theres Genisis 1 and 2nd Peter 3 for references to the Water canopy.
Josephus History of the Jews can still be bought on Amazon or maybe your local library has it.
All the other stuff you willhave to search for, Iam afraid I learnt all this long before the internet was invented, and not from Christian books either, my childhood special interest was anything to do with nature, natural history, dinosaurs, the Ice age, Geology, I had books, I borrowed books from the library, all on these subjects and from a scientific not religious point of view, dont ask me to remember what these books where called, so very long agao.
I have thought about this for quite sometime. Originally I thought what you think, that Satan is actually doing the right thing by liberating man from gods tight leash...but I eventually came to the conclusion that God is like your Father (literally), humans are his children and Satan is the "cool uncle" who gives you beer, pot and lets you do whatever you want to do.
Sure you'd love to try and get drunk, high and stay out late, its only natural to want to do what your told not to....but in the long run we all know neither alcohol or pot are actually good things which is why your Father tells you not to do either in the first place.
God's tyranny = tough love.

as a father figure, i think the god of the bible should be considered about as good of a father as bradley dayley. (google him yourself)

The bible is not a reliable source of factual information. Most geological, cosmological, astronomical, biological and palaeontological evidence contradicts a literal interpretation of genesis.

None of the above is evidence that Noah's flood actually happened and was a global flood. All those things have valid alternative explanations consistent with our current scientific theories. You might want to take a look at the following site for those explanations:

In some Gnostic sects the Jewish/Christian god is seen as the Demiurge. The flawed evil entity that created the physical plane.
Lucifer= Light bearer. The snake offers the date/apple/pomegranate of knowledge to mankind. The snake is a symbol of knowledge and wisdom to many cultures.
Christianity was forced down people's throats for centuries and demonized every other religion (or incorporated them for easier assimilation)
The Christ salvation myth is based off the Roman mystery cults which are based off the Greek mystery cults which are based off older cults.
So true. Modern Christianity isn't the same as ancient Judaism, nor is it the same as pre-Roman Christianity, nor is it the same as early Roman Catholicism, nor is it the same as medieval Roman Catholicism... ETCETERA!
