Israelis have just as much claim as the Palestinians if you want to go that route.

I get the impression that was exactly what she was saying

If you followed the argument, that is not what she is saying. She is saying the Israelis have no claim to the land that was arguably theirs from back in the old Testament...

They have a claim to the land they purchased. I still don't see how it's an enticing proposition to live in that area, though. I mean I understand that some of the areas out there are beautiful but if your intentions are self-preservation, you'd think that Israel wouldn't be the answer considering how much more direct anger and murderous intent results from it.

Israel should have never happened. But I don't think disbanding is an optimal solution or viable at all.

Right now, I think the best would be to simply stop any expansionism and violation of human rights. Also make Jerusalem a territory controlled by the international community instead of any single nation or religion. Finally, start a process by which territories acquired through force in the recent years are returned to previous owners slowly.

We will also need to stop the Palestinian extremism as well though.

It's harder to stop extreme politics in impoverished areas.

@ Vexcalibur

The Israelis shouldn't have to give up Jerusalem unless the Muslims turn Mecca over to the Vatican. Until the Muslims do that, they have no business demanding the Israelis give up their only holy city in the world.

Why the hell would the Muslims turn Mecca over to the Vatican? Are you insane?

Mecca has some significance to anyone else?

After the Disbandment of Israel, Jews can stay in Palestine, as long as they remain Palestinian. I am Jewish myself and i admire Jewish Culture. One of the reasons why i oppose zionism is because that it is destroying Traditional Jewish culture in countries abroad in which Judaism played an important part in the countries history. To me ,The creation of Israel is just like the creation of Pakistan.

In a pig's a** this will happen. One, the Israelis will never agree and if they did the Palestinians would kill them. Your proposal suffers from two main faults:

a. It is stupid and unworkable.
b. It is stupid and unworkable.

this is a struggle to the death.

All over some tiny, inconsequential piece of dirt.

Inconsequential to YOU. But your opinion does not count in this struggle. Only the opinions and beliefs of the combatants count.

Inconsequential to anyone. The cultural bonds are within the people and so are the cultural traditions. The dirt doesn't change this.

A piece of dirt = territory and we are territorial like any other animal. I know, it's real primal.
