If people consistently saw unicorns during near death experiences, I would lean towards their existence.
Near-death experiences seem to me to only prove there are experiences we circumstantially suspect might somehow be transitional ... kind of like a baby in a birth canal who likely has no clue as to what anything is and/or what is going on.
The most common NDE report is of traveling down a tunnel, then seeing a bright light, and "higher beings" gathered around.
A baby's birth experience usually involves traveling down the birth canal, emerging into the light for the first time and being surrounded by family and/or medical personnel.
Coincidence? Or death trauma bringing up long-lost memories of birth trauma?
Sequential experiences, I suspect!

Or it could prove that people in extremely bad condition become delusional.
Unless on the other side and looking back at the time, a judgment of "delusional" could only be speculative.
