We all eat recycled sh*t in a way.

If it is safe, it is cost effective and it tastes well, I guess it will catch up.

With so much of animal agriculture being dominated by more and more by huge operations housing extremely large numbers of swine, chickens, and dairy cattle, what to do with the manure is an increasingly vexing problem.

Traditionally, farmers would use animal manure to fertilize crops.

Now, the large operations have a lot more poop than they can handle.

Some of the poop can be re-fed to the pigs and chickens. But, there may be limits.

Finding some means of feeding the poop directly to humans would solve a lot of problems.

I foresee our fast-food chains eventually taking a leadership roll in feeding poo to the masses of people.

There was a Doctor Who episode, in which the people from a distant future recicled their food in the way presented in this thread, with a device, so they never went out of food, as long as the device worked. I don't remember which episode was.
