that political compass quiz must be rigged somehow. virtually everyone ends up an anarchist. unless its just the boards i frequent tend to be full of that type of political persuasion?

Actually, I've generally found that its because, on the whole, "raving righties" tend to lie about their beliefs when quized about them - not many fascist nut jobs, faced with a choice in a test/survey like: "Would you rather (a) Beat the homeless or (b) Cuddle trees and stroke kittens" would openly pick (a) I reckon.....

A lot of political quizzes are written by Libertarians. Many of them have wording biases against government intervention. This is especially true of The World's Smallest Political Quiz.

The questions are a little wacky and I see the numbers as meaningless.

The questions are wacky. Your numbers mean that you are a social conservative who doesn't care too much for the unfettered market economy.

Economic Left/Right: 8.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.54

For the other quiz, the on the issues quiz.

Personal Score 49%
Economic Score 85%

I think my "personal" or "social" score was thrown off by some of my odd views and the fact that I like certain elements of law and authority that don't affect much politically but are apparently seen as doing so. Anyway, I am also one of the biggest pro-market individuals on the boards.

I mostly come across on this forum as an extreme conservative since most of the time I'm debating the War on Terror and by proxy Israel's right to exist, but I have some fairly extreme liberal views as well. For example, not just outlawing outsourcing, but making laws designed to take those millions saved through outsourcing from out of the pockets of the 0.5% and put them back in the pockets of the middle class. Trickle-down economics may work I think, but the problem is that not enough is trickling down.

Anyway because of a mix of extreme positions I come out smackdab in the middle. I believe I'm a -3 economically, mainly because I'm virulently anti-Big Business, and a straight 0 on the libertarian/authoritarian scale because I believe in personal responsibility and, pardon the expression, shedloads of laws regulating the government.

Funny how these work out, I guess it goes to show that the standard definitions of Liberal and Conservative tend to go more with the big ticket issues rather than the larger scope of things.

There are multiple issues with this test. There are some poorly phrased questions, and there are also some issues that are confused by the clash between social conservatism and economic right-wingedness.

Yeah, with a lot of these pop-psychology tests its quite possible that the authors may have had a bit of an agenda.
