Is a recording:
(A) truly a conciseness leaving the body to be with God, or
(B) merely the process of a shut down of consciousness

I don't think it is "proof of God", but if any significant number of the recorded experiences were similar, what might that say to you? What if these recording simply showed a wonderful place, with a feeling and sense of peace and fulfillment? (The device depicted can do this.) Again, this could just be a shared physiological phenomenon, but what if across all faiths and ethnicities very similar themes were recorded?

Obviously, the machine is fictional.

Lol, so is that saying that dinosaurs and other 'beasts' walked the earth 7,000 years ago or is it saying that man has been around for several hundred million years, that the bible 'time' is dilated, and that we just need to find the cromagnon bones going back to 400 million yrs?

I don't see much sense in God being shown to people who lose conciousness for a few seconds, even on an idea level. It's a contradiction, didn't anyone think about the fact that these people did NOT die or pass over? They were still alive.

It wouldn't be a near death experience if they died

How do you explain *nearly* dying but going into their (alleged, I'm going with the premise) version of the afterlife?

Lets try to stay on track with this one for at least a few more pages. I think it could be a very interesting discussion. And in this premise, the recorded experiences are from people who died and did not recover.

No, you can only record someone about their experience while they're alive. You haven't heard from a single dead person yet.

It's a fictional machine doing fictional things, as depicted in the movie Brainstorm.

True but you could be open minded and listen to what the person thought he saw or didn't see.

All you'll have to do now is to build one like that...

Or accept we'll have no evidence from the afterlife, because they'll have to be recorded after a person is dead, which is currently impossible.

This thread is a thought experiment, modeled around the end of Brainstorm. If such recordings existed, showing in great detail some sort of experience after a person died, what would be your take on it?

If a machine could record such a thing then we can finally answer the big question which religion is right.

No, it wouldn't, I keep saying there are two possible answers.

If there was a way of recording death that was known to mankind, the technology itself would suffice as proof. But such technological advancements would bring people near the level of Gods.

We could always work backward and catch the demons in the act of planting false religious experiencers in the minds of near-deathers or planting dinosaur and pre-homosapien bones in the ground to deceive us into belief in evolution or pre-7000 BC history.
