I do believe in execution, as long as they are without out a doubt responsible for the convicted crime.
The trouble is that human error is impossible to remove from the justice system. I mean, in the broader sense you can't 'take back' imprisonment either, but there's REALLY no taking back killing someone, and if they turn out to be innocent you can no longer release them and make amends for ruining their life, mostly because they are dead.
