well we do have to live amongst them even if we don't choose to. It's not like they turn on TV and get a conservative view, or watch pop culture and get a conservative view, or go to college or high school and get a conservative view. Life is so easy for them, they just hear themselves echoed in Time magazine, or the NYTimes or by Bill Maher, and think that thats just the way reality is.
I don't watch TV.

The Obama administration gets away with what they get away with because they have good intentions, unlike the republicans who kill and starve people discriminately. And... the ends justify the means. There are bigger goals that we have to achieve, the thinking goes, and the morality of those goals are so great that we cannot let hypocrisy, immorality, and civil liberties get in our way of achieving them.
Meaning well, only hearing the world around them echoed to them, and having the ends justify the means pervades much of the left's behavior.
What a load of un-reflective crap. The ends justify the means for neocons as well when it comes to using bombs to spread "freedom" around the world. Lets just say the left and right put different weights on different ends and leave it at that. Not letting people die due to lack of affordable healthcare is simply unimportant to conservatives while showing the world your military might is extremely important. For the left it is the reverse. It seems we both see the others priorities as screwed up and immoral and it's based on a conflict of values, not reasoning. The reality is we have an intractable moral impasse, which is what makes politics so vicious today.
