Then you're still guilty of self deceit. You're restricting your view of reality instead of examining the facts from multiple sources of varying degrees of bias and making your own informed decision.

The Same God
Because me and a Pagan share the same God if that God commands of them the same ethical demands that mine does of me, and have a nearly identical value system. Me and a fellow believer do not share the same God if my God makes moral demands of me, but you think God does not and morality is subjective, and you have Left wing values. If you believe that the super natural entity is in the shape of a turtle that dwells in the sky, I will wonder why Turtles, but beyond my curiosity of why Turtles, it is the same supernatural entity in a different understanding, under a different name.

All ancients had a creation and flood story. Ours illustrates the preoccupation of Judaism with Good and Evil. Your belief in God may cause you to do Good? Great. But it is more important to do good and not believe in God, then to do evil and believe in God. Belief in God is never once commanded in the torah. Never. Loving an inherently unlovable God is, and taking no false idols is as well. But belief is not.

Satan In Judaism
Satan in Judaism simply means "opposer" or to oppose, and nothing more, and that is important... a super natural force acting upon you is not the causation of Good and Evil. You are in full control of your actions, and nothing super natural is acting for or against your favor. It is even a sin in Judaism to pray for a miracle, to ask God to break his own laws of the natural world to intercede on your behalf.


So Again:
What is the satanist reason for worshiping a character out of Christianity? Why didn't they make up their own character, and be freed of the limitations of Christianity on who and what Satan is? Or have you fully redefined Satan, and he exists in name only?

Satanists worship Satan precisely because he is the opposer. He isn't the one trying to tell you how to live your life other than "do what you believe to best". He represents the core of Satanism, even in his biblical form. So, why not use him? Premade constructs are easier to talk people into worshipping.

If Satanism is pro libertarian I've never understood why so many christians happilly cosy up to capitalist values. You'd have thought socialism would be their natural ideology. Oh well, theres right wing logic for you.

well your primitive understanding of Judaism is how you can arrive at "an amalgam of other deities under one name." void of context. God is not a constructed amalgam of other deity's, but under a different name... If God was just an emulsion of other deities wrapped into one, we would not have the continuity that persists from Genesis 1:1, onwards.

So Satanists don't care about others well-beings? What is the ethics of a satanist?

That's why Im asking why didn't they just make up their own character and be freed of the limitations of Christianity. You use a Christian character, then you are not only restricted in so many ways, but the Christian text, who created your God, has an unavoidable fate for said demon. If your satanism breaks with that, then please come up with a new name and a new deity.

What i'd like to know, do La Veyan Satanists share the Christian version of events of Satan's fall from heaven?

LaVeyan Satanists only use Satan as a symbol. The Church of Satan used to be somewhat tolerant of theistic Satanism, but now atheism is a requirement for membership. In fact, LaVeyans tend to be very offended by the idea that anyone worships the Devil while calling themselves Satanists.

Theistic Satanists have beliefs that vary widely between individuals. Really, the whole point is to be true to yourself and follow your own path, without letting anyone impose their own beliefs or morality on you. Most of us don't believe that the Abrahamic god is the creator of Satan, the universe, humanity or really much of anything else. He's just another deity who, like most, wants to be worshipped by as many people as possible and is willing to use deception and incite violence to achieve that goal.

La Veyan satanists do not whorship Satan. They are atheists.

Ayn Randianism is even more selfish and evil. It also has less holidays. Also, the proper term is Objectivism.
