Free love is ethical as long as it is mutually consentual.

The problem faced in free love communities is not everyone in the community is young , beautiful and highly desirable. With a traditional marriage a man can choose the youngest and most beautiful bride if he desires.

In advanced communist communities where both property and persons are shared in common this becomes less of a problem because with annihilation of self one is no longer concerned with self gratification but rather with making another person happy.

So which is more ethical, free love or traditional family values?

It is ethical so long as others do not suffer the negative consequences. It would unethical to force
people to conform.

If the whole community supports the children then what are the negative consequences?

As far as freedom goes the community votes in the desirable lovers.

Bingo. If everyone involved is fine with it, why wouldn't it be ethical?
