Did he ever paint examples of what he thought people were supposed to do? Those folks would seem to be having a really god time.
No. Their "prancing around naked" was not sinful. They sinned when they disobeyed God and ate the Forbidden Fruit.
Please, read your Bible!

He would also depict other sins -like greed ( showing misers stacking coins for example).
But I agree about all of those Medeaval youths engaged in heavy petting. Makes you wanna jump into the painting and join the party!

Paintings of married people. their families, weddings, royalty and nuns waiting on patients in sanitariums.
To correct a minor error in my brother in Christ's previous post, the sin of sex outside of marriage is fornication not adultery. Adultery is cheating on your spouse. Fornication is sex outside of marriage (one man one woman Biblical marriage) as well as other sexual sins as defined in Leviticus (incest, on her period, bestiality etc).
Some Christians believe that fornication also includes sodomy-a concept with a sketchy definition in and of itself. Some believe that sodomy includes any non-vaginal sex also including pulling out (they would point to what I've seen called Onanism -Genesis Chapter 38:9). Some believe it only pertains to anal. Others only to homosexual acts. Not sure about what the truth is. I myself am married and have engaged in such acts that would fall under the sodomy umbrella. The actual word sodomy never appears in the Bible however. It appears as though the concept were first introduced by the Catholic Church, but I've never found where it truly came from. Being a strong opponent of Catholism, I wouldn't believe a single doctrine they support outside of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ. Though condemnation of homosexuality is quite clear, it pertaining to a married couples' bedroom activities remains in dispute in many Christian circles.
But to sum up- No way can "free love" be considered Christian. I'd prolly give someone a hundred dollars if they could find any scripture (in context of course- no cherry picking verses) from the King James Bible to indicate sex outside of marriage is something God would see as anything less than a sin. The key here if course is IN CONTEXT
For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread
Pay up!
First of all the Bible never teaches that only monogamous marriages are recognized. Remember the story of Jacob ,Rachael and Leah? Now you may argue that Jacob was tricked but if Jacob was allowed to marry Rachael first Leah would have had her birthright stolen and would have ended up either an old maid or married to a heathen. And if Jacob was not allowed to marry Rachael he could never be with the woman he loved.
For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread
Pay up!
Uh, Right. Hope you're kidding.
IN CONTEXT- Proverbs 6:23-28
For the commandment [is] a lamp; and the law [is] light; and reproofs of instruction [are] the way of life:
To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.
Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
For by means of a whorish woman [a man is brought] to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life.
Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?
Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?
If you were kidding- sorry. I love jokes, but the Word of God is not typically something I tend to take lightly...

Not kidding.
Here is the Good News translation.
Can you carry fire against your chest without burning your clothes? Can you walk on hot coals without burning your feet? It is just as dangerous to sleep with another man's wife. Whoever does it will suffer. People don't despise a thief if he steals food when he is hungry; yet if he is caught, he must pay back seven times more—he must give up everything he has. But a man who commits adultery doesn't have any sense. He is just destroying himself. He will be dishonored and beaten up; he will be permanently disgraced. A husband is never angrier than when he is jealous; his revenge knows no limits. He will not accept any payment; no amount of gifts will satisfy his anger.
"Adultery" is defined as making the beast with two backs with another man's wife.
You can go ahead and hire a prostitute for the price of a loaf of bread (a piece of tail was relatively cheap in those days), but don't try the same with another man's wife.
Pay up!

"Sodomy" is not in bible, but its derived from name of the town "Sodom" ( as in 'Sodom, and Gomorrah") that IS in the Bible. I dont know when the term started to be used, but it was coined to mean depraved acts of the kind that folks in Sodom would be into.
Well that is exactly what I am arguing. If a man gave me permission to sleep with his wife I would be effectively turning over all my property to his estate . I would be effectively responsible for him his wife and his children and I could not hold any portion to myself which is greater than my subsistence. But if I later gave that man permission to sleep with my wife he would have to turn over his estate to me. At that point both of our estates would become common property.
Now a prostitute is unmarried so she is paid by the job.
