I see, so for this German of Turkish ethnicity who was sold to the Americans by a bounty hunter, it was all in his mind. The same goes for the others who report similar treatment at Guantanamo. Also, those Americans subject to similar regimes of punishments in the supermax system; the riot teams that charge into people's cells to "extract" them, this tactic is not only something done in Guantanamo, this is institutionalised. This is a culture of cruelty.

I guess that Durbin isn't so blinded by "my country right or wrong" that he assesses the situation more objectively. How horrid! After all, killing and torturing doesn't make one evil, it's the act of playing for Team Evil that does that, and if one plays for Team Good well you can kill and torture as much as you want and you are still Good... that's essentially what the defenders of Guantanamo think.

Durbin received an F- rating from the GOA and an F from the NRA. Any politician with a rating like that either doesn't have his heart in the right place or he's just a total idiot.

Does anyone have any evidence that "unnecessary amputations" are actually happening at GITMO? Because, yes, that would qualify as mutilation.

How does Durbin's stance on guns have anything to do with his perception of abuses committed at places like Gitmo?
But believe it or not, I actually find myself agreeing with you - what confirmation do we have that such horrible war crimes are being committed, other than this man's word? It's not like he doesn't have an axe to grind.
But if it does turn out that American doctors behaved no better than Nazis, then every single one of the participants should be prosecuted. If found guilty, they ought to face the same punishments their German and Japanese counterparts had faced following the war crimes trials after WWII.

That is absolutely true. The CIA and the military should be ashamed of themselves for committing what amounts to a war crime. Obama could have gone after Bush and his cronies for this, but instead naively believed if he gave them a pass the Republicans would be more conciliatory. I wonder if he lies wake at night ruminating over that decision.

(The description was done, as you would do if you were interested in rare birds. ^^) That had been visited at home and officially questioned, if he was somehow linked to the "black block"? And that was visited again, after him announcing to build a wall out of Black Lego blocks at the public way to that office building? The NSA, that have been proofed to be international terrorists, doing crimes in about every country of the world, including the ones, they call allies? That are forcing against international law, an presidential airplane of an democratic country to land? And that is blaming officially neutral countries, whose acchievement of neutrality was part of an contract with the USA, for offering that presidential airplane help, as they are forced to do according to their neutrality contract created with the help of the USA?

Yeah, sure. Wait they say, needs to be respected by all means. I mean if we dont respect their oppinions, next maybe we start to not respect the opinions of the Italian mafia on politicians. I mean a politician that is not supported by an international crime organization, cant be trusted by all means.
