I never understood why Republicans are so determined in denying the possible existence of global warming. Are they really that afraid of the country going hippie?

But I think creationism is more troublesome. These are the people who constantly complain of being deprived their religious rights while at the same time try to force their religion into the public sector. It's just distasteful.

I can't vote I believe in all three.

I've been following the global warming science since 2008. I've read thousands of articles. But I'm not prepared to enter into discussions on the subject on WP. Nobody has ever changed their minds based on an arguement. So I can only say that I don't belive any "catestrophic" warming will ever happen.

With birthers, at first I thought you meant pro-lifers and abortionists. But I figured out you're talking about Obama's birth cirtificate. I can't say for sure what the story is. All I can say is; it wouldn't surprise me that he is not a legitimate American. So I'll have to wait this one out to see what history says about the matter.

Creationism, I can fully understand how this seems insane. But I will not let that persuade my belief that God is capable of doing just that. If you don't belive in God, I surely wouldn't expect you to believe in creation. Nor do I understand why it bothers you so much.

Based on how unjustified they are given the evidence, I'd rate it (worst to least worst):

Creationists, Birthers, Climate change denialists

Denying a well established for centuries pillar of biology is ludicrous, Obama's birthplace has (rather concretely) been demonstrated, and while there's some ambiguity over the pace of climate change (which makes climate denialists the least irrational, epistemically) there's still been 30 years of the research and evidence pointing in that direction.

However, I based my vote on how awful the practical outcome of these beliefs would be. Hence the number 1 spot goes to climate denialism, while (if I could) I'd place creationism and birtherism 2nd and 3rd respectively.

I clicked on the birthers, and then I got a critical error.

I had to do a bit of research for this question, so that's a good thing for me.

Today I know more than I did yesterday and it's still early too.

Probably the one about climate change denial. People are really worried about climate change. They really do think Earth will end up like Venus if we stay on this course.

I know about the Obama birth certificate thing. That stupid term sounds like it was invented on this board though, but I guess it wasn't.

If you take guns away you take away a good portion of America's most sentimental items. A father's sword, or gun, is like taking a child. If someone took my father's guns away after he was dead, I might cut off my ear and mail it to the ATF. Even though gun regulation is trying to help, they need to regulate the crime instead. Enforce the laws already in place, and stop being dirty cops afraid to take down gang violence.

As for global warming, I am indifferent, because I don't care. We have enough problems. (warning this statement is a fallacy)

Abortion. I believe, after careful thinking, it should be up to the lady to make the decision.

Also, Obama, I have nothing to complain about. The only thing is he was too young, and should have gotten an economics degree. He means no harm, but he doesn't exactly do better than anyone else. Employment is still low, taxes are higher than China's taxes (corporate tax at least), and welfare was already enlarged by Bush, who got critiqued by democrats himself for his no child left behind grant. We get called racist for thinking his welfare is bad, how is this a coincidence?

And birthers, he is already president, so surviving Hillary should be more important than something silly like this. He is half white anyways, so he is American because his mom or dad is.

Would rather have Condie as president, but she is retired, smart for retiring.
