The end of Iraq
This is about it.
Believe it or not, pretty much EVERY WAR since WWII was solely the product of people WANTING WAR to make money off of it.
Not that there weren't monsters to be slain, but their rise to power was largely facilitated by those knowing they'd make a ton of money selling guns to both sides of the conflict.
it goes even farther back into history
even the france and british wars were funded by the same bank on both sides
they set up loans that the victor of the war had to pay the losers debt
they set up the alliances that caused ww1 and theres a good chance they were behind the assassination to spark it off too
I love watching the morons in office opine about what's going down.
Baghdad WILL fall. There is no good reason for ISIS NOT to take it. The locals certainly aren't going to be able to resist the enemy, and nobody will bother to come to their rescue.
Hopefully we'll evac the people in our embassy before it's overrun....so it's not a repeat of Iran in the 1970s.
I'm not sure Baghdad will fall, the Shia militias and Revolutionary Guard won't turn tail like the Iraqi Army. For the Shiites it's a life or death battle, they cannot live in a country controlled by ISIS or the like. ISIS has declared that they'll destroy their holy sites once they capture them. I think what you'll see is ISIS's advance be halted and them be put on the defensive while they try to consolidate their gains, they'll wage a war of attrition against the government and Shia population. I think the Maliki government is going to get a lot closer with its Shia brethren in Iran, Syria, and Lebanon and further from US influence. If the US starts bombing Iraq or god forbids sends in ground troops then it will turn the Sunnis even more against the Maliki government. This will be a full scale civil war, ISIS didn't take over these cities without some support on the ground. It's a bad situation and I don't see any end in sight.
