It's pretty clear that the message here is that even though CNN and MSNBC can be a little kooky, at least they aren't conservaive (like Fox) who are evil and hard-hearted.
Honestly, I don't think I could effectively rip into the subliminal messaging assertion without being uncivil so I won't....

Awhile back, my family and I had stopped at a b-b-q place that had just opened up, and wouldn't you know it, Fox was being played on the TV. I asked one of the servers if the channel could be changed, but he told me the channel was always on Fox. I remember the owner/manager glaring at me for my whole meal. The business didn't last. Gee, I wonder why?

Hasn't this exact conversation already been had here several times, right down to the FOX-spiracy theories and BBQ joint anecdotes?

The real Dogpatch is in my county,used to be called Marble Falls,but they changed the name because of the amusement park.Its been closed for years,sold to a gaming company Then they lost it because a lawsuit where a trespasser nearly got beheaded by a cable across the road.He hauled ass on a four wheeler and didn't see the cable across the road.Ouch.

Gotta love it when a trespasser can sue over what could be considered self inflicted injuries whilst committing a crime. Self inflicted in that if he hadn't been operating an ATV on a road on a NO TRESPASSING posted peice of land he wouldnt have gotten clotheslined by the cable across the road, meant to keep people OUT.

I've worked at places where Murdoch papers were the primary morning and lunch time reading material. These were people of modest means, and they all voted against their own interests. They were Newscorp's captive audience. In many states, Newscorp puts out the only state daily newspaper, and many stores don't stock anything else. It's becoming a serious problem, with the Murdoch press injecting fascism into a population that is already known for its anti intellectualism, and political apathy.

I read a news article where a peeping tom fell thru a lady's sky light while peeping and then sued and won because the sky light was faulty.Go figure.
It's a shame the old park is closed,it gave summer jobs to all the local kids and income for the county.Silver Dollar City in Branson offered stiff competition and was most likely one of the reasons it began to fail.
A friend got stuck on the water slide at Dogpatch,it was funny as hell.He was a big ol' boy and his trunks got hung up on something halfway down the slide and he was stuck,yelling,cussing, and flopping like a fish.People on the ground laughing and pointing.He sure was embarrassed.
There was a little train that ran around the park and there was a trestle bridge it went over,pretty high up.We had taken some California transplants with us and they were horrified by the lack of safety on the train,no seat belts or doors,said no way would you see something like this in California.They worried a kid would flop out while on the trestle and fall to its doom,to my knowledge none ever did.I thought it was kind of funny to hear them yammer about the dangers.The swinging bridge was fun,my ex liked to wait till it was full of tourists walking across and then he'd rock it and get it going good,it was mean and sort of funny at the same time.

The whole concept of "media bias" is funny. These are listed companies they are going to pick their audience, and they are trying to turn a profit for the most part. Of course they may have a bias, it is commercial purgative. But why complain? Fill the demand, if it is there.

However people who believe the FOX and Murdoch's views are one and the same don't really know him very well.

Remember he was operating the the UK in the 60s long before he entered the US market.

Murdoch is an unabashed globalist, this is very different from the average FOX pundit. To him nations mean something very different than they do to American nationalists. He isn't a trade illiberal/libertarian like me, but his form of globalism involves collusion, sugaring up the political elite in the various counties that, the operates in. Kind of the relationships the Mussolini wanted.

Murchoch doesn't care about the political inclination of his publications and broadcasters. He has owned left wing, centrist. apolitical and right wing media. It is about whether he can make a profit.

Hi Raptor, you and Kraichgauer should get together sometime for a bbq if you can agree on a suitably neutral background channel... I've been thinking it would be be great if you two had a get together IRL and could avoid all references to political issues!

I enjoy reading posts from both of you. Luckily I'm not from the US so I know nothing about Fox in any case.
