"Economic control is not merely control of a sector of human life which can be separated from the rest; it is the control of the means for all our ends. And whoever has sole control of the means must also determine which ends are to be served, which values are to be rates higher and which lower, in short, what men should believe and strive for." - Friedrich Hayek

I suppose this is the most meaningful quote that comes to mind. It is by a Nobel Prize winning economist and it speaks pretty much on the nature of the economy. I suppose it isn't perfectly political but it relates very much to politics as policy suggestions and economic ideas cannot be separated from the political system.

It helps give when you translate it or tell us its importance.

I think it is supposed to be the quote by Louis the 14th meaning "I am the state", ultimately an expression of absolute monarchy.

But it loses so much in the translation.

It loses everything when no one understands it!

Quote -When an iron curtain fails, a new wall begins in earnest. When a massacre begins, it does not end, and when the real P.M reveals her colours, that's when we all shall mend.
