How should I react to America's grim future?
This is very true, Europe is even worse off the America. Moving won't help, I don't have any money and nobody wants me anyways. If things got bad enough I guess I could go south but I don't know Spanish, probably just ride out whatever happens here. Thankfully we have a 2nd Amendment so I'm not too worried, yet.
How will Cruz have a chance?
a probable brokered convention will install the ooze as the GOP candidate, with Rubio as VP, via the expected GOP skullduggery [widespread voter disenfranchisement in GOP states, including vote machine hacking, harassment of voters, closure of polling places in minority/poor neighborhoods, misleading mailers like the ones cruz sent to voters in Iowa during the primary season there, the usual evils], all of which will insure the ooze and his stooge are elected with a comfortable margin. I will call those two "the terrible two."
lol the GOP establishment would never in a million years nominate Ted Cruz, most have already said they prefer Trump to him altho there are a few noted exceptions like the junior senator from Nebraska.
Brokered convention which doesn't seem likely given Trump increasing momentum with every win would favor a candidate like Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, Paul Ryan, maybe John Kasich. If any funny business happens at the convention it will likely lead to the disintegration of Republican Party as we know it.
Cruz has no chance at being president, he'll return to the senate and still be hated and not have the respect of his colleagues. People are tired of his grandstanding and opportunism, I don't know how he goes back to work without being in campaign mode which he hasn't stopped since being elected.

I don't believe the NRA [and by extension the GOP] wants pofolk to have guns. don't take it for granted that the right wing bosses [for whom the constitution is just an expedient bit of paper] see the 2nd amendment as anything but a useful tool to get what they want [a lock on power forever, courtesy of landslide votes from gun advocates] and once they get that, you will see widespread gun confiscation from those hypocrites.

we will see, but if [as expected] cruz the ooze wins his home state of texas by double-digits, and the same for Rubio in florida, the math won't support anything but a brokered convention from super Tuesday.

*almost no upward mobility for anybody not already gifted and middle-class, compared to most other western nations-
*no affordable health care under any GOP administration
*decaying infrastructure [flint was just ONE example out of many!] with no PTB willing to pay for repairs
*massive unemployment due to technological obsolescence/traitorous CEOs shipping jobs overseas
*increasingly authoritarian PTB, further reduction of democratic levers of power for anybody not middle/upper-class
*increasing scapegoating of minorities/poor
*practically no efforts at insulating the utility grid against a "WHEN not IF" terrorist attack or x-flare
*increasing financial instability
*systemic corruption [top to bottom] at unsustainable levels
*exponentially increasing gap between rich and everybody else.
-It's always been that way in the US; in reality, the middle class is being eroded and people are being thrown down to lower classes with the very wealthy staying very wealthy in the cities. This is more a leftist outcome with the latter
-How much is health insurance there? It's like 80 buckaroos a fortnight here for middle of the road coverage. If similar, then pretty much everyone can afford that in the US. I think Trump supports universal social healthcare, but I'd have to verify that
-Trump wants to bring back "made in America" rather than "in China"; that should fix the infrastructure and jobs if people are willing to give up their cheap Chinese stuff and do some manual labor; he wants to tax Chinese imports to make it cheaper for "made in America"; I think he's the only one that can really help the infrastructure and job markets in the US. Everyone else wants to do the same old
-I don't see minorities or the poor being scapegoated at this time; rather, constant attacks on the middle class that so happens to be white with constant racist attacks of "white privilege" and "blaming white people for all ills"; this is from my observations as an outsider. It's the opposite as far as I can tell, and minorities are getting inordinate amounts of excuses. Case in point: Mike Brown and the whole BLM movement that started over that
-Valid point, though it's the same everywhere; I doubt terrorists could really damage power infrastructure to a serious extent. Besides, people can live with power going out for a week or so. It's fun
-Financial problems don't really exist in the first world (coming from someone that's very, very poor), but instability is always there and always will be; I don't see them getting worst or better if nothing changes
-Citation of corruption
-That's because the middle class is being eroded in the US. When you make it harder to be the middle class for everyone, you end up with the common man and the wealthy. More of "your" leftist policies won't help this. You need decent labor jobs in manufacturing local products that give a decent wage for decent work. Relying on China for cheap stuff is one reason this is happening
You guys need a "working class" that gives hard work for decent money. So, nearly everyone is able to hit that middle of the road class. It also provides a feeling of achievement, accomplishment and pride.
As a matter of fact, the poor and disabled are constantly being demonized as slackers and fakers. It's popular to cut the social safety net and show those evil poor people. The fact is, too many people won't recognize who is really robbing them, and it's not the poor needing government help, or immigrants (legal or illegal) filling jobs, or workers demanding higher pay and benefits, but the super rich and the corporations that have been siphoning America's jobs and wealth to places like China for the sake of paying less for labor. And America's decline will never be stopped until we all recognize who the enemy really is.
By the way, Trump's clothing lines are produced in China, by workers paid starvation wages. Not only is Trump a blowhard, but he's also a hypocrite.

this edumacational joke needs to be plastered on billboards everywhere- a union man, factory worker, and a CEO walk into a room with a table, upon which is a plate of cookies. the CEO snarfs up all but one cookie, then turns to the worker and tells him, "ya oughta watch out for that union man over there, he wants a piece of your cookie!"

Texas is proportional unless you win like 50% I think, Cruz aint winning anywhere close to that and could lose. The delegates will be split between all the candidates getting over 10% I think. Trump doesn't need to win Texas but winning it would be a blow Cruz couldn't come back from.
Florida is the establishments Waterloo, winner take all. Trump has a pretty solid lead in a state where the demographics should favor him with all the ex-Northeasterners as well as the southern voters. Will be interesting to see how the Cuban vote splits between Cruz and Rubio and how much Trump captures of it. Trump lives in Florida too at his estate at Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach so like Nevada this isn't exactly unfamiliar territory. They're going to push Rubio with all they got, after Super Tuesday tho things might start getting a lot uglier in the polls for Trump's opponents since voters usually back the winner and that's how they pick up momentum. CNN has a poll today with Trump at 49% nationally, he's been nothing less than a dominant frontrunner.

i think i can wait out a trump presidency. after that, demographics will have shifted to the point where democrats will be much more likely to win for the foreseeable future. in the meantime, i'm voting for bernie. he has a decent shot at making rigged campaigns and income inequality better.

Tulsi Gabbard, one of the few Democrats I like, stepped down as DNC Vice-chairwoman the other day and endorsed Bernie. Tulsi is really good on foreign policy and has shown a willingness to stand up to her party when no one else would. She has a bright future ahead of her, it certainly doesn't hurt her electoral chances that she's an absolute knockout to boot.
