That doesn't work.

You can't deny freedom of speech to folks even when they use their freedom of speech to advocate the outlawing of freedom of speech.

The American Nazis had the right to march in Skokie Illinois even though they would outlaw freedom of speech if they got into power.

speaking of which

Isn't the so-called "far-right" racist, xenophobic groups a necessary evil in society? Surely, everyone should have the right to have an opinion and not be condemned for it. I would personally like to see the far-right rise up and destroy the left, considering the damage the left has done here to America.

Damage like civil right legislation, labor laws, a social safety net for the poor, elderly, and disabled, and so forth, and so on? Just how has the left damaged America?

Oh man, is this all you think about now? What about the good things conservatives have done?

Do so would be a betrayal of the democratic republican principles our country has enshrined. It would also be a violation of our Fourteenth Amendment.
But beyond that, how would such a proposal even work? How would it be determined what unconstitutional are? And who would get to make the official determination? The fact that there are many different interpretations of the constitution would make such an attempt complicated and leave the potential for the political power holders to ban their rivals. The Republicans or Democrats (who over is holding power at the time) could then possibly declare the other parties to be supporters of unconstitutional views and then establish one party rule. Furthermore there would be the possibility of that blocking further alteration and adevancement of the constitution. There was a time when abolitionists and womens suffrage activists were accused of being enemies of the constitution. Such a law could very well ban the people who could have ussured in the next advance of the republic.

I thought about it because you brought up the left somehow ruining America, and how they should be destroyed by the right.
And I'm sure conservatives have done something good for America, I'm just unable to think of what that might be. :P

Only if "far left" ones are too.

Communism/socialism are just as bad as fascism for being extreme ideologies and inciting violence.

Yesterday they were bashing photographers and burning flags, while they were wearing masks so they couldn't be identified.
They were only there to cause a fight.

Aprilviolets, how could you tell their affiliation if they're wearing masks? Could they not be just any gang out to cause trouble? I don't get how people necessarily associate one or another ideology with violence when *everyone* is capable of it... unless no one somehow ever killed for money, capitalism can be the motivation for violence too...

Where did this happen? And if they were socialists, how is it that they represent all socialists? Outside of sixties radicals like the Weather Underground, I think it can be stated that the far left hasn't been guilty of terroristic outrages, such as lynchings and church bombings.

Because its the same people who cause all the trouble, there is some who are "Rent A Crowd" there's another group who protest about Islam but these people turn up to shout them down.
I do feel both groups are only there to cause a fight so in the end no body knows who is who and what they're protesting about.

It happened in Melbourne Australia yesterday, they call themselves the Socialist alliance, I think there's all different groups as well.

Well, I can't speak for Australia, but here in the US, the left rarely commits political violence.

The "right" rarely does too in the US.

They both do, however. So, good for the goose and all that. If extreme right ideologies get to people, then extreme left ones should too. Both have the same endpoint of authoritarianism through violence.

The rarity of both shows that ideology and the penchant for violence from that cause isn't a problem for English speaking societies just yet.

It can lead to civil upheaval and widespread violence in the right circumstances, however.
