The ISOLATIONALISTS here in the US are at least partially to blame for the US's seeming apathy during and a little after the Depression.
Even if America was in the League of Nations they would of done nothing since the League of Nations did nothing.

Americans never had appetite to get involved in Europe's wars which they had been fighting wars against each since the beginning of time. WWII wasn't even the first time the German's had occupied Paris, it isn't isolationist to be against war and fighting other people's fights with the blood and treasure of your nation.
