Repealing Obamacare
Medicaid's expansion would be reversed, however.

It was just on the radio that they think Obama is staying in Washington to go after Trump if he tries to repeal Obamacare by going to the media which will probably bring out the masses again to cause more chaos.

Darn, I flunked.
I'm just wondering why more working class people aren't saying this. Is it because they're democrats and they don't want the republicans to end it even though it sucks, because Obama put it into place?
(Just for the record, I'm not a republican)
It's all over the Republican stations - that's the problem. That's what Wikileaks was talking about when it said the media is Leftist. You won't be hearing anything negative about Obamacare on Democratic stations. Some of the people on the radio are calling in crying because they will be forced to pay $1000-2000 a month with deductibles of $6000-10000! No one can afford that! Employers are lowering hours so employees can be cut out of getting health insurance through their employer. Listen to some Right news sources.
See I think this was a major factor in Trump winning the presidency.
All I keep hearing is "20 million people now have healthcare yay!". Lets leave out the part that it must be destroying them financially.
I think Obama had good intentions, but the whole thing has become total FUBAR (F***ed Up Beyond All Repair)

What's Medicaid expansion? Are they getting extra benefits through Obamacare?

I remember hearing President Obama say, right out of his own mouth, that this healthcare ("Obamacare") would be mandatory, and wondering how, on EARTH, something like that could be mandatory?? Talk about "too far-reaching" government----that's the EPITOME, in MY book!! I thought SURELY he meant that it would be mandatory for employers to provide the OPPORTUNITY for people to participate, if they WANTED-to----but, as time went-on, it was clear that WASN'T what he meant, and I thought he must've been sniffing too many Magic Markers!!

With the health insurance the hospital where I work has now, I wasn't able to even keep my own doctor I had been with. Getting rid of Obamacare is a big reason why I voted for Trump.

Probably going without health insurance and paying the $695 fine because that's more affordable than an insurance policy that costs two or three times more then $695 per year and doesn't do them any good unless something catastrophic happens to them.
Just because they pay the fine doesn't mean they have any health insurance - they don't. AND the fine is going to keep increasing because it's a penalty for choosing not to have any health insurance - it doesn't include any health insurance.
No what I was saying is they're probably paying the fine and going without health insurance. They're paying hundreds of dollars to the government for not having insurance, because it's a more affordable alternative.
In other words, extortion?
Extortion is exactly what it is in my opinion.

President Obama said MONTHS ago that they were staying in Washington so that the girls (or, at least, the youngest one) could finish school with their friends----but, that doesn't mean he doesn't have an ADDITIONAL reason, now.

I think Obamacare will be repealed and the government will let the middle class figure it out.
It will be up to us to work for employers that look out for its workers. If you don't like the benefits your
employer offers, it is your responsibility to find another job. You can't expect the government to look out
for the middle class.
This is the same with retirement--you should plan to fully fund your retirement.
Unless you have a really fun job and plan to work to the end.

People paying the fine is the same system as before because these people will have to go to the ER if they get sick - the only difference is the government is getting money.

Trump is right, you need competition between insurance companies to force the prices down.

I think the whole thing started because his mom had cancer and had problems with health insurance. Maybe he made a promise to her that he'd fix the heath insurance problem and make it available for everyone like it is in places like the UK and Canada. And health care in those places is much better. There's a documentary called "Sicko" that showed how lousy healthcare was in the US compared to Canada. But congress, the senate, whoever fought against any kind of "socialized medicine" and whatever Obama had in mind to begin with got severely screwed up. I heard someone comparing it to Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal policy. Except that Franklin was able to push through his original plan, whereas Obama failed and settled for something far less. And I guess he's too proud to admit it's a failure and doesn't want to see his "legacy" taken away.

Repealing it would allow Trump to say he kept a major promise when he runs for re-election.
I don't expect it to be replaced with anything--the middle class is on its own.
Or, as the phrase goes, be careful what you wish for--you might actually get it.

Trump proposes:
"Block grants" to states.
He wants to let each state manage it themselves with limited support from the federal government.
