I want to go to Heaven to see God, but I'm having trouble

Who in the world told you that in Heaven, there would be no gender or no material beauty? There are some people who put forth the confusing idea that humans transform into angels after death ... that's not true.

As for the stormy times we're living in ... after the storm comes a rainbow. So don't give up hope on meeting your dream girl and getting married. Yes, it does seem like we're in for some really, super hard and dicey times ... stay strong, hold onto hope.

As for whether we'll all be wearing clothes in Heaven all the time ... while I'm sure clothing will certainly be available ... it's been debated by some as to whether clothing will be absolutely necessary in Heaven. Why? Because to start with, Adam and Eve were naked ... some say that before they lost paradise, they were "clothed" by light, and surrounded by great dignity, so they didn't need to wear clothes made from plants, animals, or polyester.

How long will you live, or how long will I live? Who knows? I might get run over by a truck tomorrow ... then guess what, that's my "end of the world." So I can't live in fear, eh?

As for feeling devastated, there's a whole lot of Catholics / Christians and I would say plenty of others who are struggling these days, with everything going on in the world. So no, you're not alone. There's plenty of challenges to live through and overcome ... for me as well as for you.

Oh, and in these turbulent times? You just may find yourself becoming a knight in shining armor. Really.

Actually, if I'm not mistaken, the correct interpretation is that we'll all be married to God in Heaven, hence the analogy of the Church as the bride and Jesus as the groom.

Here's a book I read recently. The author's view of Heaven & Hell seems plausible, but what do I know?

I use the Jain concepts of cosmology in the book, but since I don't like proselytizing, I never mention Jainism in it.

Heaven has seven levels. If your soul warrants it, you begin your ascent towards perfect bliss in Level I, then, as the centuries pass, you travel up to Level II and so on.

Heaven Level I resembles the earth you'd just left behind. However, because there are no fossil fuels, things like plastic and petroleum don't exist. There are no animals either because the ascent to heaven is a conscious decision towards nirvana, a concept animals and plants won't be capable of. No zooplankton, no fossil fuels. Citizens don't die in Heaven. They're already dead; what we see are citizens rebuilt from celestial matter around a soul which had captured the "blueprint" of it's previous host. In that sense, the looks and behaviours of the past host is reborn.

Hell also has seven levels. Level I is for the petty burglars and thieves, and lazy people who basically amounted to nothing in life. Level VII is for the worst of the worst - serial killers, warmongers, leaders accused of genocide, etc.

Well once you die you wouldn't really have a physical body with which to produce offspring or have sex. I mean I assume if there is an after life the idea is that you've transcended those things. Wouldn't make sense if it's just a second life you can live just like this one...

If you are a guy, and you blow yourself up in the name of Islam you get 49 virgins.

Similarly if you're a lady, and you blow yourself up in the name of Islam you get the equivalent: 49 pairs of new shoes (or 49 shopping trips to Macy's)!

Time to lose your old religions/beliefs and adopt happier ones that are not self-contradictory to life-experiences/reality.

Jains believe in reincarnation, just not in the familial sense that, for instance, your next door neighbor was Napoleon Bonaparte in his past life. The odds of that happening are WAY too high. Possible? Absolutely, but the odds are against that happening because the number of souls are huge; immeasurable, really.

Jains believe in Heaven, Earth, and Hell. To illustrate this concept, their logo is in the form of a Cosmic Man. All souls are on their way to somewhere; they are always in motion. Weighted down with karmic matter, they travel downwards (Hell). If the karmic matter wasn't too heavy, the soul would stay in the same plane it was "captured" in, that is, Earth. The soul, then, could be reborn in any animal, plant, or human. A soul not heavily weighted down with karmic matter would ascend upwards (Heaven).

I try my best to live a good life devoid of soul-destroying karmas such as ego, hatred, anger and jealousy. The chances of me inheriting Heaven, then, is greater than if I was a constant liar, thief, criminal, etc. It also helps that I practice ahimsa (non-violence), aparigraha (non-possessiveness), etc. to reach these ends.

^^^the aparigraha part you got me beat on, it is hard to not be possessive of stuff especially if it helps keep you warm and dry and alive.
