No, I don't care for ceremonies.

why should I watch that mess?

I will unless an obligation comes up. I still respect the consitution and the insitution of the Presidency.

Of course I picked the "YES, CAN'T WAIT!" button. I want to see who the entertainment is! If anything, Trump is going to find out who his real friends are after this is all said and done.

I'll probably just watch the highlights on YouTube. I'm expecting something kooky and or violent from the left to take place.

Yeah, I've had this thought, as well. I wish it wouldn't happen----cuz, whether or not someone likes him, this will be HIS day.

You know, I can't help thinking that Trump may have bitten off more than he can chew. Sure, he's president, but he didn't vote himself there. A LOT of people with far right agendas made that happen because they saw in him a naive vessel who could be primed towards their self-interests.

Trump, unfortunately, is not embraced by the left at all. In his mind, he thinks they are, but they're not, and this is perfectly fine with the alt right - THEIR president, can hopefully, place their selfish "America First" positions front and center.

America is NOT in the position to look at themselves as being a "closed kingdom" like North Korea. It's too late. The rest of the planet isn't having that. Trump runs the risk that the far left will want him dead, and the far right will also want him dead for not following through on his "America First" (euphemism for "Make America Great Again") platform.

Sadly, already surrounding himself with members of the far right, he's a sitting duck if he doesn't cater to their right-of-center views.

He says this prediction isn't based on the formula he used to predict the win, but is rather only based on his gut feeling. Perhaps he also read some tea leaves.

Remember, Trump impeachment = Mike Pence as President. Not really much to hope for is it?

Republicans impeaching Trump? Just more wishful thinking based out of desperation for any type of hope. The mainstream and movement conservatives are going to impeach Trump. Are you kidding? The most die hard Republican never Trump people are on board now. Grovel, Grovel Grovel. If you are a movement conservative you basically got your Pence administration. Look at the appointments. Pence is the head of the transition team. Should be the same after the inauguration.

Any Republican who dares to even suggest that Trump be impeached will lose in the primaries the next time they run. The only outside shot of him of being forced out will be if he goes totally bonkers and the 25th amendment needs to be used. I have no idea what behaviors would be considered too toxic at this point.

I really can't stand to watch those things. I'll read the transcript afterward and maybe watch some of the more 'choice' moments.

I'm seeing news reports that the DC National Guard Leader is being fired right in the middle of the inauguration and must step down at 12:01 p.m., right after Trump is sworn in. Sounds pretty dangerous to me, since the National Guard is providing security for the inauguration event, and word is that thousands of protestors are planning on being there for the very purpose of disrupting the inauguration. At least one of the news reports is claiming that it's Trump who's insisting the National Guard Leader step down ... how bizarre. I wonder if Trump has someone lined up to replace the current National Guard Leader as of 12:01 p.m. that day?

As for whether I'll watch ... maybe I can watch part of it on my computer at work over the lunch hour. It most definitely will be historic and I most definitely am curious. In another way, am not sure I want to watch ... some are predicting that the government of the US as we know it will be overthrown, and that a normal transfer of presidential power will not occur.

Maybe the best thing I can do is
watch and pray.

EDIT: I'm now reading that The Pentagon has a brigadier general lined up to replace the current National Guard Leader.

UPDATED EDIT: And now I'm reading a conflicting report that it wasn't Trump who wanted to replace the current National Guard Leader, but that Trump has agreed to accept that this happen. (So maybe it's Obama who wants the current National Guard Leader out?)

This is all getting very, very weird.

If the government as we know it is overthrown, that will be the thing that brings left and right together because the left don't like the idea of a Trump regime and the right don't like the idea of the foundation of our government being changed. In other words, the citizens will ensure that will never happen one way or another.
