It is? Try telling that to the millions who still suffer under the brutal, patriarchal tyrannies that exist in the Islamic world.

2) You google, then realise that what you've believed all your life is a lie, a myth, that The Bible says nothing about homosexuality, but you will find one quote from Leviticus which you'll post.

It says a lot about the subject. Ever hear of Sodom and Gomorrah?

The people of Sodom and Gomorrah were not just killed for being homosexuals.
They were literally trying to rape Israelite men. That goes way beyond homosexuality.

According to the bible anything sexual outside of traditional male female marriage is a sin.
Even just getting the hots for someone is as much a sin as everything else.

This is why Christianity sucks and the Bible is garbage.

They are literally trying to destroy human nature.

Only the parts where human nature is destructive.

Australia is one such example. Can others from other parts of the world add to this list?

Where in Australia have people been thrown in jail for preaching against homosexuality?

And who here do you think agrees with these patriarchal tyrannies in the Islamic world, if anything that should be a good example of why we shouldn't have biblical law or legislation based on religion. But Islam isn't really the topic of this thread is it...

In some countries, Christian ministers can be put in jail simply for stating what the Bible says about homosexuality. That it is a sin. Some are calling this "hate speech". Anything preached from the pulpit against homosexuality can be met with legal ramifications. I find this very disturbing. It is one thing to bully or threaten someone, but our religious freedoms must be protected. I believe that homosexuality is a sin, but it can be overcome. God loves the homosexuals as sinners, but he doesn't approve of homosexuality. Because it goes against the divine purpose of male and female relationships- in which we were created. Just because someone views homosexuality as a sin, doesn't mean they hate homosexuals. Quite the contrary! It means they love them enough to tell them the truth. We can pray for homosexuals to be delivered. God is very merciful.

You do of course realise that you have now opened yourself up to being called all sorts of nasty things by those who consider your views to be, shall we say, "retrograde".

Anyway, your point about someone viewing homosexuality as a sin not necessarily hating those who practice it, is a distinction that far, far too many people just don't seem to see, or understand. A person can condemn or disagree with a practice because they believe it to be misguided, for example, and yet not feel any hatred towards the one who does... whatever it is that one is finding objectionable. My own personal example - I hate alcohol. The consumption of it, the promotion of it, and all of the things that are caused by it (like street violence near pubs). I do not, therefore, hate alcoholics. That does not logically follow.

You don't have to hate someone to get on their nerves....the OP can not hate homosexuals as much as he wants, doesn't mean it makes it any better if he goes around trying to preach homosexuality is a sin and they should stop being that way because his religion says so. If he wants to join a church congregation that upholds that particular belief and go to sermons there great, but people outside of that have no obligation to listen to it or believe in that.

Yes gays have the right to marry, people have the right to be offended...

I don't understand why progressives think perversion and living in filth advances society. The Christian church has actually been a pillar of civility over the years in place of degradation. It has the been the church that holds society in place and in tact. People blame religion for everything. Without religion, we would still have wars, murders, thievery, rape, and other horrific offences in humanity. Christianity has warded much of this off in the past several hundred years. Be thankful. Don't compare it to Islamic fundamentalism. Islam is not a religion, its an ideology . They worship Satan, not God.

OMG not you as well  Ok, here's how this thread is going to go (I'm not new to this)

1) I ask you for proof about what The Bible actually says about homosexuality
2) You google, then realise that what you've believed all your life is a lie, a myth, that The Bible says nothing about homosexuality, but you will find one quote from Leviticus which you'll post
3) I explain what Leviticus is, give you some links to educate yourself, maybe ask you to think that if The Bible was really against homosexuality why can you only find one single quote, and so on
4) You'll ignore this because why let the truth get in the way of a good rant, and you'll also ignore me and instead choose to engage with people who believe the same lies that you believe because being ignorant is somehow something that should be enjoyed.

The Bible mentions homosexuality numerous times. Not just in the Old Testament. Not just in Leviticus. It also mentions it in Romans, Corinthians, and Timothy. It also mentions it in Revelations as well. I'm sure you are willing to tote this argument "Jesus never said anything about homosexuality, but he did mention divorce". Actually, we don't really know if Jesus mentioned homosexuality or not, because so many things he said do not appear in the Bible, for if they did, the Bible would be 20,000 pages long. He did say this specifically about marriage: A man shall leave his parents, and cleave to his wife". (Not his husband) The Bible also says God will not recognize marriage of two people who are unequally yolked. If that doesn't describe gay marriage, I don't know what else does. The Bible is very clear about marriage and the purpose of marriage

I believe in Civil Unions for gays, but the church should never recognize same sex marriage. To do so would be to take part in wickedness. We can pray for the homosexuals to be delivered from their deviant lifestyle choice.

We do still have wars, murders, thievery, rape and other horrific offenses, and the certainly aren't always carried out by non-Christians. Were you actually implying that those things don't exist in the world anymore thanks to your religion? Probably stupidest thing I have read all day.

The bible says a lot of things, if we had laws based on it it would look very much like sharia law. Also both christianity and islam are religions, even if you don't like it.

Well then the church also shouldn't have political power/influence...
