They're less of a cult than the Trump cult. At least they aren't forming armed militias on the streets like The Oath Keepers ready to start a civil war once their leader gives them the order.

If he is a cult leader and his followers fanatically worship him, they would be praising him in every corner the internet.

And defending anything he does while attacking his critics.

And yet everything said about Obama in those Obama Cult articles, would be defended and the critics attacked as "faux news".

Calling him a cult leader, comparing him to Hitler calling his followers kool-aid drinking worshipers and them shouting faux news went on for years. There's nothing new about this sort of thing. That's why I yawn at all the melodrama.

At least Obama did not claim he could shoot somebody and not lose a single vote.

The trump supporter's defence is always "I know you are, but what am I?"

Because I posted a link to a news article. Did anybody here even bother to read it?

So was Obama. But Trump's cult comes with a cool hat and cool "MAGA" title.

How so? I don't recall Obama supporters hanging on his every word, and rejecting everything from legitimate news sources, to scientists, to academia. In fact, as I recall, that was the right even back then.

Obviously from the search I did there are quite a lot of articles about the Obama Cult. Take it up with them.

Back during the Obama days, the right attacked what they called the Obama cult of personality. I challenge anyone to come up with evidence of Obama getting his voters riled up into a berserk frenzy like Trump does at his rallies. And that's another thing - save for when he was running for election, Obama didn't have rallies where people flocked to, getting worked up against "the enemies of the people" (speaking out against faux news is hardly the same thing as what you see at those rallies). There is something definitely scary about Trump holding mass stadium rallies. I think everyone knows who I'm alluding to, but his name and party has been worn out with mediocre comparisons.

Instead of Hitler, how about we compare him to Fidel Castro? Or any dictator since that is exactly what Trump is aspiring to be.

Sounds good to me.

I did. Well, to be honest, I did skim through part of it  , but still got the main points.

Very much so. It was an enjoyable but frightening read.

Is the article political in nature (ie relating to the government or public affairs of the country)? If so, post such things in PPR from now on. THE LAST thing I think anyone wants is for PPR to start spilling over into other threads. Ugh.....

I'm still trying to catch up with reading the umpteen other trump articles that have been posted.
