OP, you're looking at it from the lens of appearance and from your own understanding of how humans relate. People like the people you're describing don't. They view one's ancestry as actually playing a role in defining how people experience the world, they view it as inescapable and thus view people they other as not us an incapable of becoming us.

Also, just to mention, most Hispanic Americans are of Mexican decent and Mestizo.

Although a lot Hispanics are Mestizo, which I know is part Native part White, according to the Census, Whites alone are 76.3% in 2020. Whites without mainly Spanish or Portuguese ancestry are 60.1%, which means 16.2% of Whites are Hispanic, and Hispanics are 18.5% of the USA population. There's a common misconception out there that most Hispanics are Native, when in the USA, they're from Spain and Portugal ancestry. Now if it's Bolivia or something, then yes, they're mainly Native or Mestizo.

I would vote 'authoritarian bigots' but they only end up that way because of society teaching them to be that way--explicitly or implicitly.

Hispanics means from Spanish ancestry. Most people whom are definitely white in Latin America, aren't for some reason considered white in the USA. If they say they're white, I'll believe them.

Oh yeah another note: I'm not trying to argue about ethnic groups and what not, but this is what I've noticed. Hopefully nobody takes this the wrong way, because you can be any skin tone and be a certain ethnicity.
