I’m not sure whether this is a serious question or a “let’s provoke the gullible aspies” question. I’ll assume it’s serious.

Can’t you see that the whole concept of “hate speech” has been invented to silence any dissent from the modern orthodoxy? And that accusing someone of “hate speech” (thus rendering them guilty until proving innocent) is a convenient way to save having to debate with them?

Just think the next time you hear people complaining about “hate speech” – why are there some subjects the powers-that-be are so unwilling to debate? And why must they resort to ad-hominem attacks instead?

By the way, the European convention states that every prisoner should have the right to vote. What does everyone think about that?

People should not have the right to vote against other peoples' rights. At some point there needs to be a limit to free speech. Groups like the KKK, American Nazi Party, NAMBLA, New Black Panther Party, and various man-hating feminazi organizations, fanatical politico-religious organizations like the American Family Association, they need to be swept up and imprisoned. Not to be "totalitarian", it's more to protect the rights and freedoms of their targeted victims, and to keep a balanced and stable democratic process regulated.
Basically freedom of speech shouldn't mean the right to take someone else's rights away.

People can privately believe in whatever the hell they wish to, but extreme ideologies need to be kept out of the political spectrum, to ensure the equal rights of all citizens.

One way to fix those morons up would be to encourage them to form their own parties, then put themselves up at the next election.... Then see how many people vote for them. If one group manages to scrape together enough votes to form a majority, then they'll have a voice. Unil then, they'll just be considered rabble and ignored. They are trouble in a sense because they stir up all this ill feeling, but because they are small groups they can't really be taken seriously. Well, maybe then if they were legitimised as actual political groups, then they might have to change their tactics, and it might put an end to their BS. Trying to wipe them out hasn't had any effect, maybe reverse psychology will.

You see, one of the good things about compulsory voting is that once you have enrolled, then it is your RESPONSIBILITY to then cast your vote at the ballot box; whether you know anything about the process or not. Sure it may be up to you to learn more about how things work, but apathy is much worse, because it's like saying 'f*ck it, they are only going to elect that idiot again so why bother'. If everyone thought that way, as I said, elections would be pointless. But by forcing everyone to show some responsibility and going down to vote each election means that whether their voice is heard or not, they have actually contributed to the process. Lennon was trying to stop all this apathy in 1972 when Nixon was running for his second term and the government were trying to expel him. He wanted everyone to stand up and be counted so that they could all get rid of Nixon and maybe change things for the better. By the government doing what they were doing, in revoking Lennon's green card, they were endorsing apathy and guaranteeing Nixon a free shot. Had everyone voted, then maybe Nixon would have been turfed, and Watergate wouldn't have happened. We will never know.
