WASHINGTON: Kuwait’s Ambassador to the United States Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah has sent an official letter to the editorial board of The Wall Street Journal rejecting as "entirely false” claims in a report alleging Kuwait’s participation in military operations against Iran. In her letter, the ambassador said the report, published on July 24 by journalists Summer Said and Shelby Holliday under the headline "Bahrain, Kuwait Warplanes Struck Iran in Rare Gulf Retaliation”, was entirely inaccurate.

She stressed that the allegations were "false in their entirety”, emphasizing that Kuwait did not participate in any military operations against Iran and did not allow its territory, airspace or territorial waters to be used to launch offensive operations against any neighboring country. She reaffirmed that Kuwait’s position throughout the current regional crisis has been "consistent, clear and public”, based on firm principles of respect for international law, safeguarding the sovereignty of states, promoting good-neighborly relations and resolving disputes through peaceful means, dialogue and diplomacy.
