Mormon advice
My family has some friends who are Mormon. Most of them are very nice people, even though I don't agree with the stuff they believe in. I would just try to get to know her as a friend, just like you would with someone of any other religion.

Sacred Underpants? LMAO.. must say 22 years of being morman I thought I'd heard it all, but that one, I must say is new to me. Never once did anyone talk about any kind of sacred undergarments.
Click here to read about the Temple Garments."
Ok, that's diffrent now lol There's special clothing people wear to be baptized or go to the temple, but, it's not an everyday attire or special underware people ware day to day.

I live in a community with a large Mormon population. There is even a temple where I live. I have talked about this with my friend who is a practicing Mormon (she has a father who was a bishop with the church), as well as ex-church members. The garments that are worn under regular clothing are optional, but most church members 'in good standing' wear them. Men wear them when they've been on a mission, and women wear them once they are married.
lazy-Jane, I know that there are other garments worn only in the temple that are not for every day wear. I am talking about the ones worn every day (supposed to be worn 'day and night', all the time) under regular clothes.
Mormons are the nicest most consistent group of people i have ever encountered. Their sense of community is second to none.
i am not morman, not happy with religion.
but if she is a strong morman, then you need to become a morman to have a prayer. Then you need to get married before the sex. They wear some sort of sexual reminder underwear that keeps them chaste.
I assumed this was about sex, since you only stated that she was hot.
so therefore, are you ready for marriage?

I talked to one of my Mormon friends, and she said that they wear sacred underwear, one pair for every day of the week. They also have this thing about holy rings, and she has this ring called a CTR ring that stands for "Capture the Right" or something.

CTR stands for Choose the Right. CTR rings are similar to those "What Would Jesus Do" bracelets people wore for a while. They are supposed to remind the wearer to be righteous.
The "No Caffeine Thing" is part of a code called The Word Of Wisdom, which is a group of health guidelines the Mormon church suggests members follow. The Word of Wisdom also advises people to abstain from alcohol and cigarettes, and eat meat sparingly.
As for the girl, there is kind of an unwritten rule that good Mormon girls are only supposed to marry good Mormon boys that proselytized for the church. That isn't to say you have no chance. Just that it may be hard to get close to her without converting first.
Mormons do wear sacred undergarments over their privates, supposedly to protect them from Satan. They wear them all the time. There are several guides for Mormons about their undergarments- only take them off to bathe, have more than one pair (laundry)... if you can't wear yours (like if you're in the military) it's okay to stitch a swatch of it onto your normal underwear and so on. They take an oath to never tell anyone about it too- it's a secret so shhh!
Their undergarments used to be more like knickers- all the way down to their knees but it has gotten shorter over the years. Today a pair is the length of boxer briefs. They're silk, have stretchie bands at the bottom (so no one can look up your undies to see your evil genitals) and there's usually an upside down pentagram with an image of Satan on them, usually over the genitals themselves.
The Mormon faith is quite an interesting one. Supposedly, thousands of years ago they got in a boat (from somewhere in the middle east) and landed in upstate New York- right down the block from where Joseph Smith lived. They buried brass (or gold) "bound plates" which are the written story of the ancient Mormons, under the direction of the angel Moroni.
They lived here in the Americas for a while but it all ended with a titanic battle in upstate New York where hundreds of thousands of armored warriors all died in some endworld conflict- there were no survivors (and no evidence of these hundreds of thousands of dead soldier bodies which were left in the open sun to rot in upstate New York).
As such, hobby metallurgist Joseph Smith one day walked down the block and dug up there brass plates and, using his "Urim and Thurumm" (which is either a philosopher's stone or a magic hat he put on, or both. Or neither.) translates these proto-Egyptian brass tablets into English: thus we have the book of Mormon.
So great was Joseph Smith's power that once he found the plates (which he only showed to a handful of his friends before the angel Moroni took them back to Heaven never to be seen again) he was able to translate and dictate with his eyes closed for hours on end, even though the plates were nowhere around. Several years later, he completed the book. Naturally the book is the proof that everything Joseph Smith says is true, he is the last prophet and this is the last book of the Bible.
Mormon philosophy believes that Jesus Christ was a man like any other man and with enough devotion, they too can become as powerful as He. As such, they don't pray to or worship Jesus, but God. They also believe that God was once a man and became our God and as such, it is their objective to one day become gods in their own right, over their own universe.
The Mormons also believe that the American Indians are part of this last lost tribe of Israel, but since they did not worship the same God as punishment their skin turned dark. But if they turn to Jesus and have faith, their skin will beome white again. The same applies to black people- this is why there are no black Mormon bishops- because God punished them with the sin of blackness.
The most telling thing about the Mormons is the name of their faith itself: "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints"- note the careful placement of the words there- this is "a church OF latter day saints" meaning themselves. Supposedly when Jesus returns He's going to Salt Lake City where His golden throne is already there waiting for Him to sit on it and control the Earth, along with the saintly Mormons.
The Mormons are trained from childhood to "ignore anything that goes against the Mormon doctrine" because the devil is trying to corrupt those poor latter day saints (like Jesus) with disinformation. The stronger the fact that none of this is true, the more they're supposed to believe and over the years many Mormons have been excommunicated for saying anti-Mormon stuff, including many scientists who, upon writing a valid scientific paper find themselves excommunicated and quite literally "marked for death by the Mormons".
Once you're an ex-Mormon, no Mormon is supposed to have contact with you. This includes friends and family. You're supposed to leave the community, leave your house and job and family and belongings and go off into the world like Cain as a condemned soul. Mormons can be punished for speaking to ex-Mormons and it is the duty of every good Mormon to kill any ex-Mormon. The proper way to kill such a godless heathen is to cut their throat from ear to ear, then eviscerate them and sling their entrails over their right shoulder as punishment for going against the Mormon way... this is why Mormons don't talk about Mormonism.
Mormonism is quite a handful to walk blindly into. You're supposed to take all kinds of vows of silence, give the church 10% of your earnings (they pull in several billion a year), and "live the Mormon life" which is a series of dictates told to whichever "living prophet" happens to be running the Mormon church at any given time. And if you don't follow all the rules, you'll be an apostate and marked for death.
I'd advise caution.
uh, obviously you should not date a psychologically disturbed person just because she is freaking hot. Think about more than only her appearance for once!!
A few highlights from the Book of Mormon, summarized:
* When women are allowed to rule, everything goes to hell in a hand basket. (Book of Mormon, 2 Nephi 13:12)
* Those who do not believe in the Messiah (Jesus) will be destroyed by fires, storms, earthquakes, war, disease, and starvation. (Book of Mormon, 2 Nephi 6:15)
* Many children will die because of their unbelief. (Book of Mormon, 2 Nephi 10:2)
* God will force people to eat their own flesh and drink their own blood. (Book of Mormon, 1 Nephi 21:26)
* God destroys entire nations of "wicked" people and curses the land for their sakes. (Book of Mormon, 1 Nephi 17:37-38)
* God delights in the chastity of women. (Book of Mormon, Jacob 2:28)
* God will not have mercy on orphans or widows. (Book of Mormon, 2 Nephi 19:17)
Here's a video concerning the Bible verses the Book of Mormon if you're interested (it's actually really good, eventhough it's an hour or so long). Here's the link to copy and paste:

I am married to a Mormon, and I have a lot of interaction with other Mormons almost on a daily basis. Mormons believe a lot of things, and many Mormons believe that they are religious experts, but much of it is urban legend even within their own belief system.
I am more comfortable with members who are in less than perfect standing, such as those who attend the Sunstone Symposiums. However, I can never really relate to their belief system, because I was not raised within it.
I am a Tibetan Buddhist, a New Thought Christian, and a Process Theologian. I am advanced enough to produce my own philosophical ideas. Do not let anyone try to control you; God, and Jesus Christ, expect everyone to follow their own path. This is the nature of Subject Reality.
Even though I did marry a Mormon, as one of my first interactions in Subjective Reality, it is not really a good idea. On the other hand, any LDS person who would marry a non-member would have to have a bit of outlaw nature, and that is the type of person an aspie should marry.
I have taken this even farther, since I live as a woman, though I am legally male. Since Mormons often have large families, people like me are not that rare in Mormon culture, though the church general authorities leave it pretty much to the families to deal with exceptional members.
At least if you do start seeing a mormon, you won't have to worry about people thinking you're the weird one anymore. No offence to any morons (i mean mormons), but damn thats another one of those crazy religions. I mean, the whole thing is so full of inaccuracies, wishful thinking, and plain bulls***. I know that that we all feel the need to be part of something, but thats just taking the sentiment too far.
This thread really made me laugh, some of the response are classics. Seriously, aspies are so irreverent and down to earth, they rock.
