Do you even know WHY the CPC won the civil war over the KMT? The USA airlifted thousands of KMT troops into urban regions of Manchuria. End result: Surrounded by commies on all sides, slaughter. KMT retreated to Taiwan. Chiang Kai Shek's tactics? HELL NO! He was completely against airlifting troops into Manchuria, as the KMT had neither the resources, nor the manpower. Stalin withdrew after dismantling $2 billion worth of industries in the area, and the KMT was left with no other choice apart from accepting the US's offer of an airlift. In fact, the US insisted it.

You can justify your intent on supporting a military strike as much as you want, but the fact remains that some of the most brutal dictators of the last century were put into place by western powers, or emerged due to western policies. Just think about it: Would the Iranian revolution have occured if the CIA didn't instigate an uprising against Dr Muhammad Mossadegh? All he did was the right thing: nationalise Iran's oil reserves so that your greedy corporations won't make a quick buck from foreign natural resources.

I can't believe that there are so many people out there who think that only conflict can solve conflicts. In fact, I think otherwise: conflicts lead to even more conflicts.

Btw, I do think that the government of the PRC is much better than that of the USA. At least they oppress their people openly, and not secretly. Are you aware that there's NO LAW which states you must pay an income tax? The 16th amendment was never ratified by enough states.

IdahoAspie, I absolutely despise China's immoral government. I just happen to think that we have no business telling another sovereign nation that is not beholden to us what they can and cannot do. World-policing is not the job of the United States. And even if it is, there are far, far worse places in the world to live than China.

You may be right. I don't know. I think it is a sin to not say or do anything to try and improve the situation. What is the good of being a superpower if you don't use it for bettering people's lives. Should we only use our power and influence to better ourselves?

I cannot say self-improvement is the only way we should use our power, military, and wealth.

I wonder what it must feel like to be at least a foot taller than everyone else? Sometimes I get into a crowd of men of Mexican descent here in the US and I am almost 3 inches taller than most of them, but other than that, I am only taller than most woman.

Western Scholars have been predicting the collapse of the current Chinese regime for the past 15 years......but what is happening in China is very much the opposite. It is my firm conviction that democracy Cannot Ever succeed, let alone survive in China. Even if it were actually possible to impose (western style)democracy on the Chinese it would soon be voted out of existence. I believe that IF the Chinese communist government collapses it will be replaced by an Anti-Democratic, aggressive nationalist regime hellbent on confronting and even attacking the west. Democracy in Asia, and perhaps for the rest of the world, has a future that is honestly looking pretty bleak.

You mean pumping Israel up full of guns and cash so they can bomb the rubble in Gaza? Or starting yet another war you can't win (shh nobody say V****am) in not one but 2 middle eastern countries. And heres the b***h, torture is ok because they are "bad" terrorists, don't worry about what happens to us in future conflicts now the geneuva convention is toilet paper.
But thats not all, realizing that in 2012 the whole system is gonna go tits up you put a black guy in the whitehouse to take the blame.

Guess you guys are making up for being really late for the 2 wars that counted by being early for the next one. Yes we remember the Blitzkreig, pearl harbour? twin towers? pfff! girlpants.

and why didn't my quote thingy work by jimminy?

I dont feel very cordial towards democracy right now. Because I think that most peope are petty, stupid, and fundamentally unjust and that the need to be CONTROLLED by a highly intelligent, rational leader.

Yep, sometimes I just give up on people... they are shallow and don't want to get involved with politics even though their whole world depends on them making rational decisions, instead going with the mob... it's like two wolves and a lamb voting over what's for dinner.

EDIT: To clarify, I think if a majority of people were more conscious and responsible for their actions and decisions, democracy would be a much sounder option. Not that the corrupt politicians are any better nowadays. *sigh* what the hell are we going to do?

You want a Fuhrer? Seig Heil!

the people who invent our superlative technology are vastly more intelligent than anyone operating in the political domain. Politicians are mendacious, corrupt, lying snakes in the grass and this is what you want to rule us?
